HID Kit

Yeah, 8K just makes it a bit more likely (kinda like not running a front plate, mine fell off the other day). 10K would make it really likely. Also as you increase the temp you reach a point of diminishing returns where increasing the temp doesn't make seeing at night easier. I think that point is somewhere in between 6 and 8K, closer to 6 than 8 though.

I love the 8k... the only issues I ran into with the 8ks was in the winter time when we were in blizzrd conditions. only problem was the reverse polarity when trying to install them on the MS3 gen2.

FYI, I'd probably only run 55w's in projectors. A 6k 35W kit should be nice and bright white with a hint of bluish to it. But mind you, HIDs look a hell of a lot better in projectors with high quality lenses (I.E. - Not MS3 lenses).

Hmm...I don't have projectors on my Proty but they should still look ok, no? I will prolly stick to the 6ks just cause I don't want to be pulled over for having too much of a blue. A friend of mine works for the Naperville PD so I am going to check in with him as to what they look for in headlights. I noticed the same problem with my previous ones in snowy weather it was a bit hard to see cause of the way the light blended with the snow so I installed some fog lights and left them yellow for visibility purposes. Any local shops that carry these hid kits?

These are the color charts from DDM Tunning:

I might be wrong but aren't the projectors on the MS3 gen2 the same projectors that are on the gen1? The gen1 I had looked exactly the same and the 07 GT I had came with the stock HIDs.

pics as promised.

Those are nice! But your will look much better than mine since you have projectors. So I think I made up my mind and going for those 8K. I talked to my friend in the Naperville PD and he said he has never stopped anyone for having blue lights but he DID say to stay away from really blue to avoid getting attention.

It's technically illegal, but I highly doubt you'll get pulled over FOR it. If you get pulled over for something else though, I'm sure they won't hesitate to slap it on your violations.

EDIT: Also worth pointing out the more blue you go, the harder it is to see at night.

Yeah, I noticed that especially during the winter with the snow and that was having the 6K on....but I really hate the look of the yellow ones, they look ugly. >.<

I went with 6K (I think). I personally I like subtlety and despise the very blue, non-OEM HIDs in all the luxurious Impalas with 22" DUBS I have the privilege of seeing on a daily basis.

In Chicago???? NOOOOOOOOOOOOO :)

I would stick with 6K (Diamond white) far best than stock hid (4300k) besides your headlight is lot different designed than projectors it would be more brighter. Because of the design of your headlights is more open, just ensure to level it right coz definitely people will flash you...I think your using an H4 bulbs right?

OK...so placed my order today. The site says order processing takes 5 business days...sigh, so that means I won't be getting them for another 2 weeks. =[

DDMs are easy to install and have the lifetime warranty. I have had my 8k 35w now for 6 months and no issues with them whatsoever. Ken could you hook you up as well but basically any HID kit should take you about 10-15 mins to install. The slims are the way to go. I have pics on my profile of where I hid the ballasts.

is a bit hard to make out in the pictures, but where exactly did you mount the ballasts, and how did you secure them from moving around?
