does anyone know when hiboost.com will be back up? I am doing research on turbo kits and wanted to check them out. Right now I have a T3 kit for sale but owe money so am forced to sell and when I have the funds available again I want to get a T25 or something along those lines. Also does anyone know anything about the TSI turbo kit they sell on turbo-kits.com. any other feedback about where to get a reliable kit and not bleed me dry let me know. I want any and all input. thanks

Yeah I dunno it's been down for a while.

I know nothing of turbo-kits.com.

Maybe give hiBoost a call, or check out www.**************************.com, they are one of the big supporters of this forum.

The TSI kit fits like crap, a few people have tried it here.
Likezverg said, check out mental addiction as well.

The website should be up any day next week. It will have more info and more parts available for all you projects. Bolt on turbo kits, intercooler kits or parts available to make your own set up.

We have the turbo kit available and ready to ship for the proteges. For your information, that turbo kit has just made the fastest protege at 12.00 and 114 MPH.

My buddy Chad just put a TSI kit on his P5 and it fit great, I don't know if maybe you had bad luck with one or if you know someone that did not have good luck with them but his fit just fine, and I plan on buying the same kit for my car in December/January.

the only issue i had with the tsi kit was the down pipe and the mid pipe where off a little. Easy fix will cost u about $30 or u can just get the 2 1/2 mid pipe that slsperformance.com sales and that fixes the problem. As for the turbo spools up fast as hell. U hit the gas and u can hear it start up. Great kit (dance)

I put a TSI kit on my Sentra and it fot fine for me too. I like it alot. The only thing is, buying premium fuel gets costly.

I put the tsi kit on my protege 3 years ago and the only thing that was good on the kit was the manifold and the turbo, i had to replace two sections on the piping and the extra injector controller didnt work with my ecu.It wasnt worth the money i paid for it.

does the protege5 and the mazdaspeed protege have the same internal parts?
How many hp can the protege5 handle safely?

Yes the Protege's all have the same internals, rods, pistons, crank, and I believe the head and all its insides are the same as well, really the only differnece on the MSP is the LSD welded transmission and a turbo/SMIC. I've been told you can run 250-275hp safely, its all about tuning, however the transmission is the weaker part, but street unit and protegegarage both sell the upgrade kit with the GTX 3rd and 5th gears. From what Carlos from CPBoost.com told me 4th gear is also the weaker of the gears, but no one makes a upgrade for it yet. Hope that helps you and answers your question. If you are looking for a quality turbo kit and dont mind spending the extra cash, I suggest you check out www.CPBoost.com they have a great kit and have the dyno sheets to prove that their kit will put a stock Protege at 247whp.

Good luck!

can somebody please post up all the places that sale complete kits for the protege5, cuz even google only finds hiboost n i stand in disbeleif that is the only people out there, second the othere real difference is the heads on the mazdaspd pro's they got way better built heads, after extreme testing its so much safer to get the mazdaspd pro 03.5 trans before gettin boosted or gettin the reinforced 3rd n 5thn u MARK MY WORDS NEED TO GET YOUR SHIFT FORK REPLACED, JUST DO IT CUZ U HEARD IT HERE FIRST, IF U NEVER HAD TROUBLE OUT OF YOURS U WILL WHEN U BOOST OR SPRAY, (HINT)- THEY WERE MACHINED TO THIN A THE TIP BY A LARGE EYE POPPING DIFFERENCE, SO BAD THAT MAZDA KNOWS BOUT IT BUT DOESNT WANNA REAP THE RECALL,<<<<<......thats my wise advice n yes that applies to all protege n protege5's n mazdaspd pro's

^^^ I have absolutely no idea what you justy said. Punctuation is your friend (thumb). However, from what I could understand it looks like you're a little mis-informed. The MSP's and all other 2.0L Proteges (DX/LX/ES/5) all have the same engine block, internals, cylinder head, intake manifold and accessories. The only difference is the Protege MP3 has a slightly different intake manifold. The MSP's also have the same transmission as all other '03+ Proteges but just with an LSD, nothing else is different. Mazda revised the transmissions in mid '02 I believe so all the G-Series transmissions after that point were the same. The "stronger" 3rd and 5th gears come from old 1st Gen 323 GTX's. Oh yeah, MSP's have slightly different axles as well. Aside from that and the turbo kit I don't believe there is anything different between them and any regular Protege.

As for turbo kits, only Hiboost (if they're still around), CP Racing (www.cpboost.com, I think) and TSI (www.turbo-kits.com) still make kits. Kooldino over at Speedcircuit (www.speedcircuit.net) has been throwing around the idea of making a new kit as well.

i bare bad news again for i have had this long n drwn out discussion wit mazda mechs, gm's n even the gm at the plant where most likely ur tans n mine was made in misouri, only people who got the good stuff was over seas n canda this i promise u man , i put my car on this, the heads is not the same , the situation on the trans is same in the heads , the infomus parts that break so often that r oem break because they machined them way to thin! to be honest with i wish u fact bust this just so u see what i mean, www.factbusters.com , u put it in there n see, or call the plant urself and ask to speak to don rogan pronouned ro-han, n he will verify , cuz he's gonna remeber the long convo/arguement we all had n they finally bit the bullet n paid in full on the trans n heads,03.5 was not caught in the mist for all the trans in those modles all come from a plant in quebec, same deal with the heads,

understand this im new here but not new to mazda, my friend!!!!!!!!!!! is that enough punctuation for u, there is no mis-information here i broke the barrier here in fla, also google palm beach mazda on military trail in florida, n ask to speak wit peter the parts rep n he also can verify this to be fact, i have sent countless poeple wit pro's pro5's n mazdaspd pro's 01-03 to him n they all walked out satisfied to the fullest,,, but i must digress for u,,, i mean we all gotta beleive what we want to, but facts stand up

Buddy, you're wrong. I don't care what you think you know but the MSP FSDE and regular Protege FSDE are the EXACT SAME motor - head and all. I can even dig up the serial numbers cast into the heads on both MSP's and my Protege5 to prove you wrong. Don't come onto this site spewing information that we all already know is incorrect. The MSP's have the same cams and everything that can be found in a regular, everyday Protege. The only difference between the two is that the MSP gets the turbo kit, an oil cooler, an LSD in the transmission, and a different radiator and A/C condensor to allow for the side-mount intercooler. All other mechanical aspects are the same. This goes for all MSP's and 2.0L Proteges in the US and Canada.

Now, if you're referring to Japan, Australia, etc. then yes, they have some different variants with different camshafts but the cylinder heads are still the same. The FSZE motor (not in US or Canada) is OBD-I, has higher compression pistons, more agressive cams and a different intake manifold making approximately 170 hp at the crank. The "Mazdaspeed" versions in Japan utilized this motor back in '01. If you still don't believe me check out the Protege FAQ at http://www.protegefaq.net/.

I don't see why every once and a while someone has to come on these forums trying to proves things that aren't true that most of us already know...

Wow, um, wow

if you're looking for a hi-boost kit though, don't bother. The only way you can get one anymore is to source a used one i think

Not sure what exacly you were asking though.
