Hi-Boost turbo install

Im back on the Road!

Due to bad whether I did not take pictures yesterday. Instead I went to get some final supply's for the car. The good news is that it runs good now.(headbang)

Someone mentioned in this post that it would be nice to have a friend help you I must say that its a must. My biggest downfall in this project was that I was doing this by my self. Especially the wiring which I do well with (most of the time anyway) if I comprehend the manual. When I did my wiring it was 3am and i remember that the last part, for cutting and isolating wires #4 and #55 I was comatose. Knowing me when I'm 1/2 asleep you can get me to agree and do anything.... I wont remember it later.
When my cousin stopped by the other day I went ahead and started the car to show him how it runs. Went around to the engine bay and revved the engine underneath the hood and fluctuating engine problem went away. Than I showed him the manual for E6X wiring and asked him to read it.(RTM) Now since the ECU was coming up with CEL codes and the mention of the wires 4/55 cosing CEL's was hard to ignore. He read that spot over, I explained him what i did and 15 minuets later problem was corrected.(rockon) I'm not kidding when I tell you I was a wire splicing zombie, my priority was to make sure to cut correct wires, match the colors, stripes and numbers, make sure the welds were solid, shrink tubing was on. But I misinterpreted the part that says to connect 12V to wires 4/55 going to ECU. Instead i cut them and isolated 4 ends, that was cosing P1562 CEL.

Cant stress enough how LUCKY I was that I didn't blow anything up.
Just because it can be done in 6 hours consider that if something breaks you are loosing time. I was not rushing, but on Friday I spend 1/2 day taking bits off broke tons of hardware. On Saturday I had to go out and get the hardware that I broke and correct the problems, finally I started prepping the car later that day. Sunday I started late and therefor at the end of the day I didn't want to quit and worked in to the night.
lesson here " No overnight TURBO projects!"

At this point Im working to button up the car. The engine bay is pretty hot its at 150f and the water is 208 degrees so im a little worried. Exhaust needs to be worked on. On Monday my autometer A/F and Boost gauges arrive and i will need to install that too. Tires need to be mounted... so much work.
(hand)I almost forgot to mention im having this problem it happens around 4000 RPM under WOT it's most evident when im in 4th gear just after 4000 RPM the car cuts out. I have no idea what is it and where to start looking.

look at the ex6 lol thats your tuning solution if the car is ****** up at a certin rpm log it on the ex6 and see what the ***** up

Hey guys,

I have been trying to get hold of the guys at HiBoost but their toll free number is not working, fax machine appears to be disconnected and no replies to emails.

Does anyone have new contact details for them? Did they relocate?

Cheers

hiboost

well hiboost has been out for a time now i dont know why but is has more than a year out

Thanks for the confirmation. I will try and contact TBK Performance instead to see if they have stock of the HiBoost kits.

I read on your mods that you had a HiBoost fitted to your car.....are you happy with the performance and reliability?

yeah!!

the car was a totally diferent car dude i loved it but it not turbo anymore i sold the parts i just have the hiboost turbo manifold and the haltech the other stuff i sold them but the car was running great and the tranny holding great also with the lentech valve boy 0 problems for 2 years but iam getting know a cx-7

Yeah, i'm more concerned about the ATX letting go than I am the engine components. I'm looking forward to getting some air blown into my engine bro and your 2 years with 0 problems reinforces my desire.

If I can't get a hold of the HiBoost kit I will put something together myself using the IHI VF22 (or Garrett GT25R17) with the EX6 and have the pipework custom made.

yeah

well look the hiboost kit its great but juan told me that my kit was going to be the last kit for the 1.6 and i can tell u something he kit is great cause u dont have tu buy anything else just plug in that was and advantage that i by my self installed it just neede some help on the haltech to program it but i think that the halteck kit was expensive a bit so if u head on finding parts ull do it slowly but with much less money really
ur car is a 1.6 also_????

Mine is the 2.3 M6 but i'm looking for more torque (headbang)

Hope I can still get my hands on one of the HiBoost kits, I would rather not have to put it all together myself.
