Ah I'm bouncing between the 2 cars.
I'm sure everyone has heard this one.
3 Sport GT or MazdaSpeed Protege.
This will be the prime driver for my family, (wife and I... thats it)
So is this car comfortable? I drive the inlaws 02 Protege all the time, just wondering about the suspension. Driveablity, year round, in snow and so on. Any things I should know about them.
Personally I'm leaning towards the Speed so all the info from owners would be super...

Not to rain on your parade, but if you drive in the snow a lot, I would get the 3 Sport GT (Thats the 3s here in the States, right?) It has 16" wheels with all season tires, and the motor is pretty fun to drive. The suspension is a LOT more comfortable. Overall, the costs will be lower on the 3 (cheaper tires, regular gas, cheaper to purchase, etc.), but if you are planning to mod the car in ANY way, I would say go for the MSP. You have a jumpstart with the turbo, and many people here have over 200bhp with little modification. And boost is addictive, so watch out.....
The Mazda 3 Sport GT has the 17inch rims, 4 door hatch back.
As for winter driving I'd have snow tires on. Its a must.
Doing the math the MSP is only 3K more to buy and with the 0% over 60 months thing its very affordable.
So who knows I'm going to arrange a test drive asap to see if I do like the car or not. It might not suite my taste or be right on the money.
Only a test drive will tell me that.

Kinda crazy paying 5K more for a car made last year.
I test drove the 3 and yes its very smooth and refined.
So I will have too see how the MSP feels. My standards are pretty low.

It depends on your needs. If your needs are only somewhat enthusiast-oriented and more family car-oriented, then I'd go for the 3. It's a great car.
As for the highs and lows of the 'speed, there is a wealth of information archived here about that. I'll never give mine up, if that tells you anything, but my needs in a daily driver are different from yours. Good luck, you really can't go wrong.

My needs are a fun weekend car, no kids. Just my wife and I.
Do the food run, move stuff from time to time, trips and general driving stuff. Nothing serious. We both bus to work so it wont see any stupid rush hour traffic. I do have a "summer classic car", but it wont be back on the road for while. I really do hope I like this car. I'll let everyone know my thoughts over the weekend.
From their if I like it, I'll see which dealer will give me the best price.
I think Mazda Canada is having issues unloading these cars.
0% for 60 months, no payments for 6 months and no interest for 150 days.
