So yeah, I know I don't really post here much, but I figured maybe some of you guys might want to come to this. It's an event held by a nonprofit, called the Lumpkin Coalition.
The Concert itsself is a benefit to save the Hemlock Trees. The Eastern Hemlock is being slowly killed off by an invasive aphid called the Hemlock Wooly Adelgeid. The goal of the coalition, and the festival, is to fund labs which will raise a beetle to feed on the Adelgeid. More info is available at www.lumpkincoalition.org
Anyhow, the event is this Friday and Saturday in Murrayville (near Gainesville, directions here).
The music is mostly bluegrass/folk, really good stuff. Our headliner, Col. Bruce Hampton, is probably going to bring John Bell, from Widespread Panic. We also have a bunch of other awesome bands like Emerald Rose, Big City Sunrise, and Stop Drop and Roll.
