Help with TSB Please!!?

Hey Gang,

Anyone have the TSB # for the auto headlight too sensitive fix???

I recently had my cx7 in for first oil change and I asked them to do a search for the TSB that fixes the auto headlight sensitivity problem.

Well, of course they could find nothing of the sort, and went on to explain to me that the problem was the setting of the light sensor and it is now fine since they moved the sensitivity setting down.

Problem is still there, and I probably won't get any resolution until I can get them an acual TSB #. Can anyone help?? I've searched for this TSB and cannot find anything -- could have sworn it was posted here over the last 3-4 months.

Read all the entries, about 4 pages worth. Someone even provides the procedures to do it yourself.

The actual adjustment does little, other than decreasing the sensitivity. I had mine done and it does take a bit longer for the lights to pop on under freeway overpasses, but it's not that helpful. If the overpass is particularly wide, I'm going too slow under it, and it's a cloudy day, my headlights still pop on. I wish they'd program the auto headlights with variable timing - so there'd be a true delay when different lighting conditions are encountered.

There is a TSB, tell them you want the system sensitivity lowered even more.

I've preformed that adjustment already. It still pops on under underpasses if it's dawn or dusk.

Why is this a problem?

I like the sensitivity of the auto lights on. I had a Maxima that would take a while before they came on, to the point where you considered turning them on yourself. Who wants to do that?

Mine come on when when the CX-7 is in the garage and go out quickly once it's pulled outside.

I don't see a problem. Same when going under a bridge or tunnel.

I like the sensitivity of the auto lights on.

Well to each his own I guess...

IMO, a properly engineered auto headlight system does not turn itself on when there is 1 second of darkness. I've had 3 cars with this feature and none of them had the extreme sensitivity the CX7 has.

Surprised this was not caught before final production specs were written. Anyways, if somone has that TSB, I'd sure appreciate if you posted it!

It's fast because if it was darker for more than a second and they did not turn on the feature would be of no use as you could manually turn the lights on yourself.

It could be fast enough to be useful without flashing people under every overpass and insighting road rage on my rush hour commute. If it waited just a 1/2 second more I would be clear of the bridge before they came on.

I have been in cars with auto headlights before and none of them flashed people under overpasses and none of them did I feel that they took too long to turn the lights on when I really wanted them on. In fact some even had a dial to adjust the sensitivity.

Plus didn't your mom always tell you not to blink the lights cuz they'll burn out faster??? These puppies are pricey to replace.

Exactly AW! Want to bump this again -- in hopes of finding that elusive TSB.

I could have sworn it was posted somewhere on this forum within the past year and I cannot find it anywhere! (bang)
