Anybody out there can you give me more info on the Diagnostic code C0044 please and how much this would cost to repair!!

I took my car in today for a diagnostic test because the TSC/DSC warning light has came on (you know the one with the car with the squiggly lines, and I cannot disengage the DSC?. the only solution that the service reception said was it was something to do with the Hydraulic unit? So I asked her what the diagnostic codes was and the only code was C0044, so then asked her if she could give me a price but she was unable to give me it as they have never had to order this part before!! Call me a cynic but is she avoiding the dreaded problem "ATE Teves Mk 60 ABS/ESP module brake pressure sensor valve!!!! you know the one that costs over a grand and nobody at Mazda knows about this fault? If it does sound like this to you what would you suggest me to do??? My car is a Mazda 2 Sport 2008 model (boom02)

Hello Mazdamum (I am back in....;0)) as I suspected that code does indeed relate to the exact same dreaded Teves failure I had on my Octavia VRS just before I sold it! Don't know if this will help or not, but Specialist Cars had a 'cheaper' option fix which included swapping out some box/part & not the whole system. Difference was about 150-200 versus 1500 originally quoted (I was lucky as I had extended my warranty!) For Mazda to say they don't know about it is a total nonsense, but just sums up Arnold for me. Will look & see if I can get a link to the problem from another forum.

Hey i also suffered from this issue, i had TCS light on and had it plugged into a diagnostic machine and came back with brake pressure sensor failure, was told i'd need a new abs unit, i found 2 websites that do repairs, one of them "sinspeed"i emailed and got a quote of 225 + 15 for returning the unit to me, now if you were to send your unit off for repair your car is unusable during this time and think about the cost of removing the unit, sending it and then getting the unit refitted. Here are the 2 links for you http://www.sinspeed.co.uk/http://www.ecutesting.com/catalogue/product/mazda_2_abs_pump__ecumodule_combined_amc909403.html now with the second link that takes you right to the ECU/ABS unit for the mazda 2 1.5 and will fit from years 2007-2010, i never contacted these guys but it seems they also do a lifetime unlimited mileage warranty with their repair, as do sinspeed. If you can go without your Traction Control like i have been doing for about 4 months, you may want to keep an eye on ebay, i just picked up an ABSunit from a 59plate 1.5 Mazda 2 for 40 inc p&p and they're selling for 250 new, so hopefully it should fit my 57plate 1.5 and i will have saved a load of cash :)

Hope this helps
Chris
