Help with Bose Stereo Issue

Hi, I own a 2005 Mazda 6 sedan with the Bose and moonroof package. I ran into an issue where the output of my stereo seems to be extremely low no matter what mode I am in (AM/FM/CD). If I turn the volume up to Max, I can barely hear anything from the speakers. I do hear it if I put m ear right to the speaker so I can confirm that it is outputing the right station/CD; however, it is waaaaaaaay below normal volume. I tried replacing the fuse, but that did not help. Any suggestions?

Thanks for all the help.

sounds like the amp under the passengers seat has failed.
Perhaps just its fuse is blown but you wold not likely be getting anythign through it if that was the problem.

You can try resetting it too. Just pull the negative battery terminal and step on the break for like 2 minutes. That should be enough to reset the radio...and everything else.

I tried the battery terminal trick and that actually raised the level a little, but it is still way below normal levels so I think I will replace the amp. Any suggestions on the best place to buy the bose amp. I just dont want to be ripped off by the dealer.

Thanks for all the help.

Dealer or ebay is about the only option. Its not a consumer resold item. It is build for Mazda only.

You could put in an aftermarket 5 channel amp if you really want to but its obviously not going to have all the processing it it that the stock amp does to make up for the acoustical issues of the factory speakers.
