HELP! Weird rattling!

Hey all, I just bought me a MSP on a few days ago and I have this weird rattling sound. I usually hear it when I take off/bog a little. Could it be the exhaust? I kind of hear it in the front. Anyone have/had this problem?

Yeah, mine is in my dash on the MP3... Oh well its only there if your accelerating slowly

Alright thanks guys! I'll go look check it out in a bit. Its just really annoying me when I take off. I love the car though!

if it has a cai, my injen squeaks when i take off. heat shields sorta sound like a metallic tapping and usually can be recreated just by revving the engine to between 2k and 3k rpm. my cai only squeaks under load. it could be the crunch of our front sway bar bushings too. i also had a wicked dash rattle coming from the bezel around the cluster, but it was easily fixed with some foam placed in strategic places good luck, and congratulations on your purchase. you will find loads of info about these cars on this forum

mine is the heatshield too but u only hear at start up(pissed)

I took my heatshield off, it was the cause of my exhaust rattle because the lower bolt holding it on was rusted to the manifold itself and not connected to the heatshield what so ever.

I would take mine off but the manifold was so rusted and so looked so bad that i decided to put it back on. No more rattles though even though I have only 2 bolts holding it on

Well earlier today, I check out the exhaust manifold heatshield and it seems like it is very secure. Should I still take it off? I'm too lazy to take off the bolts and the O2 sensor.

you dont have to take the O2 sensor just unplug it and slip the wire through the whole in the shield

take it to the dealer and have them warrantied with new ones since you are still within the 4yr/50k range
