(not singling anyone out here). me, personally...i'm voting for bush. why? well, with kerry's views going back and forth on things, who knows where the country would be after 4 years of his bs. yeah, kerry has a "great plan" on how to do things in iraq...hind-sight is 20/20. and about people's jobs being sent over seas...who is kerry's wife? how much of her s*** is done over seas?...but that's ok. doesn't kerry himself own companies over seas? yeah, he's contributing to our country.

and let's not forget that we're not voting for just one person. bush has had great backing by his cabinet while in office. who will kerry have? ted kennedy? great. i don't know. politics are ******-up anyway. people listen to their friends more than they listen to the facts. if everyone on here would actually do some research on the people they support, they may find out that what they think is true, usually isn't.

don't move to canada unless you like getting the double tax. when i was in canada, i had to pay $40 on $200 worth of stuff. that's insane! 20% taxes... for what? free health care for everyone? i don't get sick, i don't go to hospital. why should i pay for someone else's health care? SUCKS!

About stem cell research: I actually just had a lengthy discussion with a girl on saturday who has her PhD in Bio Ethics. She explained to me for about an hour and half all the things behind Stem Cell research and the different types of things associated with it. I am not going to explain much since I am obviously no biologist but here were her points, which I agree with.

1) All science needs to be tested on lab animals 1st and for some reason there has been no extensive study on lab animals and we don't know much about what the effects of stem cells could be entirely.

2) There are quantaties of unused embryos in fertility clinics that can be used for stem cell research, but they will run out eventually.

3) These are the cells that make babies. You would need to almost farm baby cells to make this happen and this means you would basically be farming humans and to me that is like some F'ed up Matrix battery s*** right there.

4) This where I am going to stop and be the most confusing. There is progress in synthetic stem cells which would be a happy medium. All in all though this stem cell stuff IS A LONG ways off and should not be rushed because it has not been extensively tested by any means. And is not going to just cure a disease over night.

This was meant to just shed some info on stem cells. I think I am going to ask this girl to write me up something to show you all, because I really think a very very minute group in this country actually understands it and she explained it very well and I was completely surprised about how little I actually knew about it.

for the average american not buying insurance through their employer, health care costs up to 25% of their annual earnings. i was being sarcastic about canada. they have a good system and a proven one at that. if you've ever worked in a hospital environment, you'll quickly recognize how the care of a patient is now superceded by the dollar. doctors are not allowed to see patients unless they are properly insured or can properly pay for their care. it kind of goes against the whole hyppocratic oath. it's also quite interesting that most doctors are for universal health care as they see on a daily basis how the current system blows goats.

As for good health care in Canada, see watch the movie Invasion of the Barbarians, and tell me its good. Yeah if you have a cold or the flu its great, but if you need major medical help you get put on waiting lists, which means if you have cancer it could take years to get treatment, which by then you will be dead anyway. Watch that movie Seriously. Also if they're care is sooo good, how come when people need major advancements in medicine to help them they come to the states? Because we have doctors who have incenctive to invent and try new things, you don't get that in socialistic nations. We need to fix our healthcare system, this is true, but Canada is by no means a good model to follow.

Healthcare goes up in this country BECAUSE OF LAWYERS! Not the republicans or democrats. This country unlike European countries rewards Lawyers with huge pay outs if they win a malpractice suit, so these lawyers always hunt to sue somone to basically win the lottery. If doctors weren't always sued for everthing (they are doctors, not god) they wouldn't need to pay HUGE Insurance bills to cover there ass and therefore would mean healthcare companies wouldn't need to pay as much to help lessen the burden on people. Untill legislation is passed to set a cap to what lawyers and in turn people can get in lawsuits this problem will exist forever.

please people, DO RESEARCH on things before you speak. the california energy crisis was caused by the DEMOCRATIC formor governor puting price caps on the cost of electricity in 1996. this greatly raised the demand, who the hell wouldnt want cheap electricity right? well here in 2000+, theres hella lot more people, and since the electricity companies arent making so much money now, they cant expand their production capabilities, thus the shortage. trying to blame the freakin shortage on bush, real damn smart. it is for the eneducated buffoons ranting their s*** about stuff like this that i hate kerry so much. go ahead and move to canada. i dont care is ross perot was our president we're better off than any country in the world. assholes think that saying they'll move means anything, get the hell out of my country then!!!!

Now this has to be a load of scabala! I have three surgeon friends who hate socialized medicine. They have on many occasions voiced their disgust with such a system. It was like on Mad TV, The government does such a fine job with the DMV why dont we let them run the health care system to. Not the most authoritative of quotes but hey it was true.
