2009 Mazda5 GT
My parents are looking at a new 2008 CX-7 GT white water pearl with Technology package, cargo net, all weather floor mats, and auto dim/homelink mirror. They have been quoted Price $25,983.00
Dealer fee $499.99, original sticker of
Total MSRP:
$33,203.

My questions are how are the 2008 different from the 2009? Have there been any problems with the 08? We are in Denver, Colorado. has anyone gotten similar or better offers?

Any and all feedback would be greatly appreciated! Thanks to everyone on this wonderful forum!

Sounds like an OK price to me. I just got an 09 Sport and paid 21K otd (could have done better). I have seen cx-7 sports w/o options for 18K in DC. I don't think there were any changes on the GT from 08 to 09. As for reliability, so far so good. I had a Mazdaspeed 3 before (same engine) and never had any problems. Gas mileage could be better, but there is a different turbo that builds boost at lower rpms than the mazdaspeed and eats away at the gas mileage. I would tell them to hold out and wait for the 2010 models to come out, they should be able to pick up an 09 lot car for even less.

I have an 07 and no issues of importance. The 08s have most of any bugs worked out from what I've read.

thanks for the feedback. they ended up getting a silver 09 gt with bose stereo. Got the price down to $25,100 before TTL and trade in with the original sticker at $31,130. Dealer thru in window tint to close the deal at no charge. so they will pick it up tomorrow and they are very very happy. another fantastic experience with gateway mazda in aurora co. they even let us drive as a loaner until their car is finished a 09 miata touring with the paddle shifters. what an amazingly fun car to drive! and i got $100 bucks in parts/service credit for the refferal! plus after talking with the sales manager she told me 24 more referrals and she would give me the miata ( i of course asked if she was serious and her reply was "as a heart attack")! so now i need to start converting more car buyers to zoom zoom!
