Ok guys. This has got me so fired up that I may never buy another Mazda again. HELP!! First off let me say this is not the infamous "clunk". This is a rattle that is in the car. In the back. It is the big piece of plastic that butts up against the backseat and the back window. Where the speakers are. I have taken it to Mazda about 6 times and those dumbasses keep changing the shocks and struts and swaybar and etc... Is there any hope with this?
I have taken that whole piece off and put carpet and Dynomat under but it still rattles and the radio doesn't even have to be on! Has anyone else had this problem?

hmmm, never heard of this problem. Have you checked under your rear seats? maybe a clip in your rear deck is broken. Make sure your seat belts are snug also..

This is a common problem in mazda's. MX-6 had the same problem. And my MP3 is starting to get it aswell. Your best bet is to zip time it down to the frame as best you can. I took mine off and moved the foam around so that it would stop and pushed decently hard on it and it seems to be working. If not, take it to the dealer and complain all you can. They SHOULD be able to fix it.

I had this problem in my ES after removing the deck cover for suspension install. I used some dynomat and weather stripping around the edges. Of course I also used some zip ties to make it snug and it was nice and quite after that.

I only have one in the front drivers side which is I think a result of the security system I had installed on the car. I also get this noise on hot days from my B&M short shifter. Even if I lube it I still get this rubbing sound when I shift. I think I might try to use a lighter wieght grease so it penetrates more.

Those of you with the B&M do you all have this problem? How did you solve it?
