hi im new to this site and thought maybe somebody could help me. im working on a 99 miata and replaced the waterpump. timing was off so i took everything apart and retimed it. im pretty sure it was done right.. i turned the crank so that the marks were lined up with the marks on the timing belt cover and i also lined up the marks for the cam gears. as i went to go start it the car cranked but did not start up.. checked spark plugs and it was a little wet from fuel so dried up the spark plug and install it back into the motor... vehicle still did not start. checked for codes and got the engine coolant temp sensor code. visually inspected all of the sensors and everything is plugged in right. i erased the code and also got the spark plugs out right now so it can air dry overnight. do you think it wasnt starting because of the code? or maybe the engine was flooded orrr has nothing to do with both and i should do a little more investigation? if so, what should i check now? please help me im stuck on this job for a total of 12 hours already (hand)
