Help MSP'ers

FMIC increased power, which makes life harder for your tranny. If they don't want to fix it, you'll have a very hard time making them.

Be nice to them. They have a lot of discretion in these matters.

The FMIC intake, and exhaust shouldnt void the warranty on the car, it increase power, but nothing mechanically changed in the tranny.
If they deny warranty, its time to call a lawyer.

Ill find out tomorrow what the exact problem is when the take it apart. Then Im sure they'll call whoever to come look at it and see if im covered.

FMIC, exhaust and SRI should genreate enough power to break your tranny. What are we talking about like 15-20 whp? I doubt that would be enough to break the tranny. Maybe you broke the differential....that would be my guess. yeah, Wheel hop can take a toll on the speed. Its the shittiest thing next to fuel cut.

True but at up to 200.00$ an hr for a really good attorney I would bet that tranny would start looking cheaper in comparison.
(laugh)
Of the two that actually had to take Mazda to court I don't think either one of them got the car fixed Turbo Matty (The Banned one) wink, wink, only got to trade out for a PR5 after costing him 6000.00$ in legal fees.
Mine is only having an MBC that is easily removed until I blow past 75k miles and end my warranty. I am at 30k after only a year and I was glad to have the coverage when my exhaust fell in half and it left me stranded.
Dealers have a legitimate complaint when you mod the heck out of your car especially considering that it would make more power when it has those mods on it and the fact he went outside the dealer for the replacement clutch. I am guessing they wont touch it now. You can fight but man it will cost some cash.

Also the amount of force that was being applied to tranny IS a factor in coverage it is not as simple as,"Well I did not touch the tranny." That increased force is being mechanically applied to the tranny so it is an imputed effect to the transmission.
Years ago when I was in college full time I would build PC's for people and if they added all kinds of crap to the machine and it died I had no way of knowing exactly what caused the failure. I would still RMA the part and help them out but sometimes they would have to pay labor or pay for a part.
So some dealers may work with you and share the cost so go easy on them they can compromise if given a chance to.

I *JUST* went through this issue with my MSP and while I was picking mine up, another MSP was up in the air with the same issue. The differential had completely seperated from the tranny. *This is bad*

I did not have any mods when the car was brought in and I've always been cool with my dealer so that helped.

Please see my "MSP Clutch/Tranny Issue" thread in the Performance section.

...this may be a weak spot with our cars.

If you have any questions about it, feel free to PM me later. I've gotta get to work for now but definately do not mind helpin you out later.

There are plenty of high milage MSP out there...have they experienced the same problem? MAybe this is just a isolated incident.

Isolated incident? My car & another MSP in the same area and he doesn't drive his car hard? I doubt this is an isolated incident.

As was stated in a few other threads, the diff is just attached through three small welds. This is more than likely your problem. Sam, if you have any questions, feel free to hit me up on AIM sometime Sunday. I still have the paperwork and it's pretty fresh in my mind.

Yea ******* dealership wants to tell me the tranny and clutch went out. I told them if it was the tranny and clutch it wouldnt go into gear. If it dont move while in gear and giving it gas, it's the differential gear. Fucktards. Yea I might have to hit you up on your copy of the work order. They havent even disassembled it to diagnose the problem. Here's the best part. It failed "due to me ramming the gears fast." Idiots prob don't even know there's a LSD inside.

Best part while I was up there some guy came in with an alarm problem for the millionth time on his msp and the service dept asked me where the adjustment knob for the sensitivity was :wtf:

EL DORADO MAZDA MCKINNEY hereby sucks donkey balls since they got new management! Scratched my front wheels when they turned my rotors last time!!!

On the other hand TOWN NORTH Mazda Service Dept has improved and is my service dealer of choice for now. They ordered a new radio headunit after me just showing them what happened.
