The FMIC intake, and exhaust shouldnt void the warranty on the car, it increase power, but nothing mechanically changed in the tranny.
If they deny warranty, its time to call a lawyer.
True but at up to 200.00$ an hr for a really good attorney I would bet that tranny would start looking cheaper in comparison.
(laugh)
Of the two that actually had to take Mazda to court I don't think either one of them got the car fixed Turbo Matty (The Banned one) wink, wink, only got to trade out for a PR5 after costing him 6000.00$ in legal fees.
Mine is only having an MBC that is easily removed until I blow past 75k miles and end my warranty. I am at 30k after only a year and I was glad to have the coverage when my exhaust fell in half and it left me stranded.
Dealers have a legitimate complaint when you mod the heck out of your car especially considering that it would make more power when it has those mods on it and the fact he went outside the dealer for the replacement clutch. I am guessing they wont touch it now. You can fight but man it will cost some cash.
Also the amount of force that was being applied to tranny IS a factor in coverage it is not as simple as,"Well I did not touch the tranny." That increased force is being
mechanically applied to the tranny so it is an imputed effect to the transmission.
Years ago when I was in college full time I would build PC's for people and if they added all kinds of crap to the machine and it died I had no way of knowing exactly what caused the failure. I would still RMA the part and help them out but sometimes they would have to pay labor or pay for a part.
So some dealers may work with you and share the cost so go easy on them they can compromise if given a chance to.
