help me out!

Sorry, got caught up in the discussion.

RYAN-

Find a wrecked engine, get pauter rods and JE pistons, and transfer your turbo equipment over. Get spool's microtech if you have a little left over. Hope that helps.

Aerodyne made a variable vane turbo, but they went out of business. . .remember the Tri-point turbo kit. . .

Updgrade the internals. . .port and polish the IM while you're at it, just get the thing running. . .

I vote for a bi-turbo setup. . .wouldn't that be sweet. . .just kidding. . .fix the engine and go. . .if there isn't a hole in the block, that seems to be the least expensive route to take.

i'd vote to get real mechanics to actually pore over your motor and see what exactly is wrong with it. you never know, it might be something simple and relatively cheap to replace that the mazda techs didn't find at first.

this way, you'll know the minimum you'll have to spend to get the engine in good running condition. from this stage, you can then decide (with whatever you have left after you've paid for the inspection) on what parts you need.

thus if say your pistons are shot (for whatever reason), replace them with lighter pieces, etc....

this is the most cost effective method of fixing your car as you don't waste money on parts you don't need (ie: the whole motor).

once your engine is up and running with whatever replacement parts necessary, then with the leftover money (if there is any), upgrade the other parts of the engine that you should upgrade (kinda like the domino effect - you upgrade part a which means you need to upgrade part b)...

as for fanciful mods, go all out on forged internals, beef up the transmission, and replace the turbo with the largest that'll fit (hammer out the hood if need be)... sure, boost lag will suck but you'll catch up to your competition REAL quick. :)

ok first off topic a little, about turbos not spinning fast enough it all depends ont he turbo you are using, like mentioned above one option is for a turbo that uses the variable vain technology and/or a dual ball bearing center section, the center section allows less friction and faster spooling allowing the turbo to spool anywhere from 300-700rpm quicker, so if it normally kicks in at 3500rpm it would then be about 2800-3000.

back on topic what I would really do, is check into the engine liek others have said, if it is a major problem and will need a swap either get a fsde from a yard for about a grand and do the forged internal route, remembering our cranks are already forged so you would just need rods and possibly pistons although you might noe even want pistons. while you have the new engine out I would also do a clutch and flywheel replacement before adding your factory turbo back onto it.

Another thing I thought of but honestly dont have a friggin clue if it would work is to get the fs-ze engine and swap it in.

Again I dont know if this is even possible on the MSP's but then you would have the same 170hp rating N/a this time and then you can sell your stock turbo kit, get a spool or other one and have over 200hp.

alot of good suggestions in this thread already.

wow this was the most realistic post till like ur last paragraph...

hrm... the topic was to stay on rebuilding the current engine not replacing with another.. i am not gonna upgrade the turbo.. so basically im asking for parts website and prices of some aftermarket internals.... notice i said realistic... through a supercharger and a new turbo are totally out of the picture... if i was sponsored that might be realistic but then ur still totally out of the price range. come on... i could use some realistic help no dream work...

first figure out whats wrong with it, then if it isnt bad rebuild that engine u have along with a port and polish, bored over.030, add a supercharger on it (a small one) keep the turbo on it, add forged internals, up the ante with intake and exhaust cams and finally a stand alone fuel management system

edit: oops posted too soon... and when ur all said and done ur gonna have a beast of an engine

and if u cant rebuild ur engine, go to a junk yard and buy one for like 1000 and do what i said above ;)

lol, yeah more money than u have, but do what i said with the engine, add forged internals and better cams along with a port and polish, then as u get more money get ur supercharger and stand-alone

read the last part, forged internals, port and polish, and do the figure out whats wrong with the engine part, i just realized u have the mazdaspeed cams already, haha my bad

well, notice i said "fanciful mods" as in unrealistic. heh. but just follow up on what i suggested starting with the most important. going to a good mechanic who knows our engines and finding out what the hell is wrong with your engine. then work your way from there.

as for parts, do a search on this site. i can't quite remember the actual addys of the carparts websites but they're out there. see if you can get a discount from your dealership as well.

found the site:
http://www.mazdacarparts.com/
free shipping on items over $50!

have fun!

as for internals, www.srmotorsports.com has a few parts, and visit www.crower.com for custom work...

Hey Ryan...get in touch w/ me through here or my email link. Depending on whats wrong w/ the motor we might be able to get you back up and running with some discounts on stock parts.

definately... will be keeping in touch... i found a guy that im gonna get to look at it... i have been told that triton motorsports i believe makes alot of custom parts for the car, i think im gonna refrain from going stock parts... cuz i figured i might as well go all out while the engine is open i was thinking today gettting it port and polished and maybe having it bored out some... but first and for most i wanna replace the parts that are broken with what money i have left over i'll do the rest... i was figureing today that my chances are between 5,000 and 6,000 total dollars that i can go into the motor depends on how much money i recieve for the motorcycle i am selling and how many paychecks i save up between now and the time i go to buy the parts... all i gotta say is i cant drop the msp now i got to much money into it.. and it'll be one hell of a monster when im done.
