93 ford probe base model 2.0l FS model engine
Hey guys was wondering if anyone could answer my question. I've look all over the net for something like this having been attempted or asked about.

I have a 93 ford probe (2.0l) base model pretty much stock high milleage.
I do not want to buy another car all together.
I want to increase power without having to buy separate performance upgrades and doing all the tedious dismantlement of the engine.
All i want to do is swap the motor out and if need be the electronics and control systems as i know from experience this is easier for me then rebuilding a motor. key phrase being for me!

so here's my question.
Can i swap out the stock probe 2.0l motor with a JDM MAZDA FS DOHC 2.0L from a 98-02 year car and if so what year would be best for turbo applications without a major engine rebuild. i don't mind replacing cams. I also don't mind building a custom wiring harness and installing the control systems needed. I can yank that stuff out of the same car i get the engine from.
I much rather like the probe body style and design. I have big design plans for the sheet metal. but the probe motor seems gutless compared to the protege or 626 motors.

Please help me figure this out. (uhm)

You contradict yourself, so therefore your goal is impossible lol.

So you want to swap, rebuild (mild), and do custom wiring work on a car that you don't want to upgrade or deal with tedious work?
