Help Locals, Car Was Broken Into

:
2003 msp
Hey all, my speed was broken into yesterday! F'n sucks they broke the passenger side front window out. All they took was my wife's purse. But what I need some help with is that the mazda dealer says that the glass was made special for the MSP and there isn't any in the US and it's going to cost 450 or so. Is this BS? I find it hard to beleave that the glass is differant from a regular 2003 protege. Can any one help me with this answer? Who should I call to Get the correct info and get it fixed, right? I also am going to need get some chrome tint to match the rest on the car. Just moved to Oregon and don't no who does the best work. Thanks everyone.

hahahhaha MSP special glass? The only special glass on the car is the rear window with the integrated antenna.

Your front door window glass is Sekurit branded, correct?

well if your car was broken into then you shouldnt even have to deal with the dealership. Its your insurance who should be dealing with it, and they will most likely be able to help you find someone in the area

oh yeah and move to beaverton or something gresham blows man. thats where most of the crack/meth heads are in the portland area

wow... that's such BS. special MSP glass? you should call Mazda head office and tell them about this bulls***. mother ******* stealerships.

Who said that about the glass? And yeah, total BS. I agree with Chopstick... I'm sure Mazda would have an issue with idiots representing their company.

And yeah, that's an insurance thing... not a dealer thing.

I'd get a check from insurance and fix it yourself. I'd guess that to be $100 or so?

thanks

So I was told this crap by Ron Tonkin Service Dept, I thank you all for your responses. I found a shop to do it for 150$ next day. Insurance is a 250$ deductable but Smart Glass in Gresham says they might be able to get insurance to pay the 150$. Anyway you spin it Ron Tonkin can bite me! I will contact Mazda Corp. and give them the scoop. Just got to find tint shop now, shouldn't be to hard. I might try Tommys, I got to find invoice from original tint job and get all the specs of my tint. Thanks All.

I'm not really surprised. Sadly, their service department is horrible. I no longer take my car to them due to damage they caused to it on 3 different occasions and how they handled it plus a number of other things. :shakeshead:

I go way out of my way to go to Vancouver Mazda/Dodge now. Much better service and overall work there. I gave them a 100% on my survey they sent out after your car is worked on.

Herzog blows. They tried twice to diagnose a strut bearing on my Mazda and couldn't do it.

So much for Warranty, I replaced it myself and gave the bearing to the service writer. If you have a to use them though, Lee Fisch is a great guy to work with over there in Parts/Service.

I'll have to try them if I should need dealer service in the future... I had two horrible experiences with Ron Tonkin Mazda - they suck.

Kinda surprised no one mentions the premier mazda....Well I guess I live in SE.
After royal moore and herzog experiences, premier is by far the best dealer that I have experienced with.

Yeah to bad their sales team SUCKS. I guess all dealerships bite at one time or a other and yes I had a bad experience with Ron Tonkin but they dealt with me great after I raised a stink and still do .I just wish those places were\are like my Porsche mech (Stuttgart Autotech) I had when I owned a 944 .Yes you paid out of the ass but they at least cuddled with you afterwards and even called you the next day. To be serious those guys there alwaysw were honest just wished they worked on Mazdas

Oh man... I wish I could have video taped the guy at Tonkin who was trying to sell me an RX-8. He had NO clue about the rotary and tried to sound like an expert.

Untrained, low experience, BSing, or just plain idiot employees and workers give me an idea of how management is and how the company is run. See ya!
