Help installing Haltech E6X

I've got the Injector wires soldered in, and the white wire too.

I have the ignition wires and the crank position wires

What pins/wires do these go to??
I saw a couple threads about it... but no pics or descriptions inside
I have the F10X instructions, but those aren't serving too well with the ignition/timing stuff

Any help would be kickass! :D

Your post is a little confusing...which one do you need to connect?

look at the wiring diagram for the Haltech, and look in the FSM for the colors of the ECU wires that correspond.

alright.. i got everything except the power.
i was tapping it from the same power source as the MPI, but that doesn't seem to work.
the instructions say to tap the thick blue wire... there's only one thick blue wire under the steering column, and it's blue with a white stripe... is this the ignition switch?

Thanks!

k... got the coolant temp sensor in.. the MAP is hooked to the intake mani.
the EBC has 3 prongs... yes i only have 2 lines (from turbo and to internal wastegate)
got the injectors in, but engine won't turn over.

i get fuel, but no spark.
Any ideas?

Btw - what does pin #42 do? Mine's cut, and i can't find a matching colour in the harness (it's pink w/ blue on on ECU harness, but no pinnk w/ blue further up the harness, leading into the engine)

Any ideas?

hmm.. alright, it's totally disconnected.

I need to re-read ll the instructions from the MPI, so many tapped/cut wires there... i don't know what to do anymore :S

Dude just look at the wiring diagram for the ECU and splice as required. You can install a Haltech in 2 hours.

um.. where does one find the wiring diagram for the ECU?

The Haltech is totally wired in... it's my 2 previous hackjobs (ATx to MTx and MPI Tuner) that are causing me headaches.

bo... got it all wired up... everything seems fine - but i have no spark.

doesn't smell like there's that much fuel either (dunno how pungent the smell should be)
Anybody have any ideas as to the cause of no-spark?

I've doublechecked all my wiring, except for the crank position wiring (as it's REALLY taped up)
I even cut the iginition wires from the Haltech and put them back into the ECU (stock style) and there's still no spark. I'm pulling out one of the plugs and holding it against the block - nothing.

any ideas?? I really don't want ot have to bring it to a shop.

hmm... i'm going to go at it with a multimeter and check it out.
if there's a signal and no spark, i can get spare coils.

any oher ideas?

ok... so i just realized i have no idea how to use a multimeter, but i've got one, and i wanna test the coil packs.

What friggin' setting do i use to test the wires? I double checked all the wiring, it all looks good.

i should note that i have a car alarm, but it's totally disconnected from the car, though. (the unit's unplugged and dangling under the dash.

Put the black wire into the COM port on the mulit meter, then put the red wire into the DC-V connection. Then touch the red probe to the positive side of the coilpack connector, and the black to the negative. Then set your mulit meter to show XX.XX volts. Read the manual if you don't know which setting to use.

Then, crank the car over and see if you're getting a reading or not. If you are, packs are fried, and ouch... $$$ Now if they're fried, find out why first so you don't fry your new ones. Check the shop manual for specs and make sure the voltages are all within spec.

Also double check the ecu is actually getting power when the ignition is on. I had issues on my E6k connecting because of this (forgot to hook up a wire in the fuse block).

MUAHAHAHAHAH.
I got her going.
It was the fuel, actually. Apparently, when you remove the fuel rail and install new injectors, you hve to reset the Fuel Pump Relay... did that, car started.

Only issue is that now the Haltech is asking me for a Password?! I'm going to try reinstalling the SW on my laptop and see if that helps.
Doesn't seem like it's getting the right signal from the TPS, either, as the haltech is readin 17k RPM, and all the other engine signals are outta whack, but it starts, it's LEAN, but it runs :D
