i may have broken my axle...Sometime recently i dont remember it ever happening. I never heard a loud bang or anything untill about a month ago when i heard a whirring noise coming from my back end. I posted up on some forums like colorado mazda club and mazdaspeed forums and i heard from multiple people it was common on speed6's and also that i could just have some minor wear on my differential so i didnt think much of it. Over the last month or so ive noticed a slight power loss and as of like a week or like 5 days ago a substantial loss of power even in soft driving. Then in the last maybe 5 or 4 days i began to hear a clicking noise from my back end near the differential so i drove as little as i could and i called Groove Mazda to see when i could get it in for a look. They said tuesday of next week will be the soonest i could get in for them to diagnose the problem but if i wanted any maintenance done it would be saturday of next week most likely. Freakin' rediculous Right? but oh well so i was driving out tonight to go get my buddy so we could go to a party and i heard a loud crack and some rattling then it sounded like something fell off my car. i also saw the car behind me swerve to the right and back but i didnt see anything come off of my car...i turned around and headed straight home at probably 10mph and jacked the car up. My friend and i took the ebrake off and just rotated the wheel while we listened for the rattling and grinding. we heard it and it was loud enough to make me think it was right at the wheel so i assumed i had bearing issues. I got under the car then to see what i could find and saw thick grease leaking out of the driver side of the differential where the axle goes into the diff. I had my friend rotate the wheel again and saw it was not connected to the mechanism in the diff and it was just a rod sticking out of a hole with no connection haha i dont know how to accurately describe it more than that... So now i ask: Where can i find a new axle for cheap and how long is it going to take for me to get my car back on the road? Ive dealt with many problems with cars whether it be mine my dads my friends etc but never have i had trouble with drivetrain and axles so any help at all would be much appreciated XD

Edit: Realizing now it may be the universal joint inside the diff...
