Help fast, car on jacks waiting!

So as the title says my car is on jacks and i dont know what the hell im doing. I am installing my SPC ball joints but the problem is i cant get the stockers out! How do i get the ball joint the rest of the way out? I detached the lower arm thing and now it is only stuck to the top part...HELP FAST PLEASE!!! Here is a pic of where im at.

Come on guys, im lookin allllll over here and google and i cant find anything. I see a lot of other stupid questions but nothing in regards to how that comes off....PLEASE!

I believe they have to be pressed out. But if you don't have a press then if that joint is being replaced, try using a good sized hammer and bang it out by hitting the stud up. Or try using a floor jack on the stud and a good sized pry bar on top of the control arm to apply force downward while pumping the jack upward.

I believe they go the other way right??? This is the top ball...So it should come down correct? I just went ape s*** with a hammer on it and it gave me the bird!

It has to be pressed upwards from the stud going up to get it out. If you were to put a new one in, you would install it from the top and drop it in.

If you have a good pump jack, try putting the jack under the stud and raise jack up while bracing the control arm from the top with a pry bar and hopefully it can be pressed out like that.

maybe thats why my hammer didnt work...Ill be back! Ill beat the hell out of it the other way i guess... This is my daily driver and i cant get it out but the boot is torn on the stocker now. I found online it says u have to have a BALL JOINT PRESS and no one in town has one! s***!

Yes a ball joint press is the best way to remove. But if using a hammer, try hitting upward on the stud to removed. But do not ruin the stud. Like I said try the jack method, should do less damage then a hammer and should be easier.

I dont really have a jack that can get the high though..Or that would fit in there. I do see that i has to come up but i dont have any way to make it go up. Its a regualr hammer. Its not a sledge or anything. probably 12/16 oz im guessing.

Yes a small 8lb sledge would do it, regular household hammer will not

Im a big dude so when u said 8 lb hammer i fifgured u meant i need to put some ass behind it. So i did... And its starting to come out. But now its stuck. I had a small gap and tried to pry with a screw driver and the tip broke off in that gap. Thats stuck too. I guess im past the point of going back!

Nothing to do with the size of yourself, just that a sledge hammer has more force regardless of size of person.

spray with some pb blaster or other lubricant and keep hitting if progress is being made.

As long as the threads are still good then it can be put back together if needed.

Well its stuck right now with about a 1/4inch gap the whole way around. Im gonna go to the parts store and see if i can find something to rig up. This sucks.

Get a bigger hammer if you can find one, trust me you will be able to get it out with one.
