Hello, newish CX-9 owner

I picked up a 2008 GT back towards the end of May. With one kid and another on the way we needed something bigger than what we had. I went to the dealership to look at some CX-9s and they just happened to have this GT that came in the day before with only 10,000 miles. I believe it has just about every option, Sirius, Nav, DVD gameboy thing, backup cam, tow package. The only thing it did not have were the roof rails and cross bars. I had the rails put on and did the crossbars myself, really easy. Overall it's a great vehicle and just what we needed. I guess my only gripe would be with the smart keys. I wish it were similar to other smart keys where as soon as you grab the door handle it unlocks. I feel like theres too long of a delay to when you push the button to unlock the door to when the door actually unlocks. Sometimes its instantaneous, but other times its not.

On Smart keys, I have a Prius with Toyota SmartKeys. I know what you meant.
Imagine my confusion when I have have two different systems of SmartKeys. Sometimes I hold the door handle CX9 and expect it to unlock until I realize that this is not the Toyota!
And, vice versa. Other times, I hold the door handle of Prius and press the black dot to unlock (like what I have to do with CX9), and the Toyota Smartkey gets really confused since I touch the handle (so it unlocks) and I press the black dot (so it locks again).

Anyway, as for the delay, keep your SmartKey cards away from your cell phone.

Thanks, yes its the pearl mica white. Its definitely my favorite color Mazda has to offer. I had a pearl Audi, which was had a creamier color but was equally as nice. The best part about this color is how clean it appears. You would never know it, but I hadnt washed it in three weeks before I took these photos. Could never get away with that in black.

The two other smart keys Ive used have been with Mercedes and Toyota and they both worked the same. Ive never had a problem with door not opening instantaneously as soon as I grabbed the handle. Maybe its something I have to get used to with Mazdas and yes I know about the key not working when in the same pocket as a cell. Been through that
