Hello Michigan?

I was my car at least one a week regardless if its going to rain to keep the break dust and bird s*** off the car. Of course this weekend is supposed to be great weather but my cars going to be in the garage while I'm at the Indy 500.

yea i wash my car 1-2 days a week, and now i get free car washes for as long as i own this si, at the dealer and its touchless woot lol

My wife thinks I am a fanatic... I wash my car almost every other day. IF it rains I wash it. If it gets bird poop on it I wash it. If it has been more than two days and road grime is present or brake dust, I wash it! Saturday morning no matter what or when it received its last wash. Doesnt matter, I love to wash the car. If you find my car is dirty, I simply have not made it home yet to wash it or it isnt lunch time yet, cause I will go to the coin wash and wash it....

This weekend it is getting clay barred, wheeled out, polished and then hard waxed. BIG TIME!

I usually get mine washed once a week, and it needs it. Sometime in July when I have the house to myself, I'll pull mine in and usually have a detailing weekend, since I've got the pool and the BBQ to use as well.

Woot for the Indy 500 -- I'll be there, too! Unfortunately my MS3 will probably be stuck outside since I'm driving it down to Indy.

When I still lived at home, I could wash it every two days and it'd even stay clean by hiding in the garage, but I don't have that luxury anymore. So i'm stuck with washing once a week maybe longer. Sometimes, that layer of dust and dirt can act as protectant imo.

well crap, I guess I'll just have to live in my parents basement or I will live out of a garage where i can keep my car. I just finished washing my car so it can sit for 3 days and get dusty.
I stopped by suburban today they had a metropolitan gray ms3 out front so I took some pics.

Speaking of suburban (since i know you like to stop up there every so often), how's your take on their service dept so far? I have tried being patient about my Bose radio situation and they've promised to call me back with news on several occasions and never followed through. When I called Mazda NA to update my address info, I also asked about the Bose situation and she spoke with the dealer and said that she passed on my info and I should be expecting a call in about 15 minutes. It never happened. I even called the dealer to confirm that someone actually was spoken with and was aware of the scenario, and he also confirmed he would call me back. I guess I just have to show my face there then. We'll see what gets done.

My thing is: If you say you're going to call- Call then. Don't leave someone hanging. If I were a higher profile customer with a $90k Porsche or Audi, you wouldn't do that to them. So don't do that to me just because I have a minor issue that is supposed to be taken care of and hasn't yet.

See all the salespeople are real nice (that is their job) and I talk to them all the time, the one time I called the parts/service department to order touch up paint they said they didnt have any but they would order me some and try and get it to me soon, I needed it in a week they said no problem, that was May 8th and I called a week ago they didnt even know who i was or that i had ordered anything. So today i went there in person "oh yeah i stock that, oh wait its on backorder we cant get any" well why didnt you tell me that when i called.
I always go right after work so they are quite busy and i have a check list of things to go over with Richard about, one being the radio, today was the first day i tried it, 33 normal, 34 softer, 35 double volume+bass, it was strange.
I'm getting the impression their parts and service kinda suck, I know my bosses each bought a porsche cayenne there when it was still bill cook and said it was the worst service ever and they would never go back, I'm starting to wonder if anythings changed...

See, that's what i'm starting to realize. And to be quite honest, I won't stand for it. I had enough trouble in the service area with past vehicles. I'm not about to start with this..

You shouldn't stand for crappy service, this is my first new car so I don't really know what to expect out of the dealer. I know the salespeople realize how fanatical I am about my car and I will bug the hell out of that dealer until I get the answers I want. Luckily for them I haven't had any major issues yet.

This isn't my first new car. My track record for successful service visits are extremely limited in the past.

My 05 GTO was a nightmare. Turned out to be a lemon, but regardless, I was constantly in and out every month with stupid issues that never got solved or addressed from the beginning.

My 07 TBSS's fog lights kept shorting out. After 2 attempts to get it fixed, I finally just went to my dad (30+ years Auto Body Collision). He looked under neath the front bumper and started laughing. I was like "WTF are you laughing at??" He told me to check it out. From the factory, they drove the bolt holding on the fog light right through the wire loom covering the wires to the fog lights. It was touching the bolt head and shorting.

Suburban having terrible service has to be dependant on a few things. The service write-up team not being consistent, and the technicians not properly completing each service visit or not doing each one with proper consideration.

Well arn't you lucky! lol jk

Who do you normally like to talk to up there? So far, Amanda and Mark have both failed to call on their promises.

Did you buy your car there? Talk to a sales person when it comes to stuff like that, they will walk you through if they think you are a loyal customer. Amanda has always helped me. I have never needed anything other than standard service though. Now I am afraid to push it...

Yeah I bought it from there.

She was just really absent-minded when I was politely explaining my issue with the Bose radio. Then she got the tech and I ended up educating everyone about it. That was around April 23rd or so. I was supposed to get a call when it came in. I called back around May 6th to see what the news was, and she said it still hadn't came in. So I tried back again on May 22nd and she said she'd call me back because she was going to try and re-order it and let me know when they'd get it. No phone calls whatsoever.

So when I finally called Mazda NA to change my address, I asked about the issue and she called the dealer for me and spoke to Mark. Then my cell dropped the call. So I called the dealer and spoke to Mark and he told me he was going to pass it on to Jim who was going to put the order in and Jim would call me back. I told him that I was originally working with Amanda and was still waiting for a phone call from her, and he said that he would just have someone call me back in the next 15 minutes.

Like I said..this isn't a huge deal. Regardless, I'm going to probably show my face on my day off Tuesday and see what they say.
