...the guy TOLD you they don't do detailing, did you think they were gonna go to home depot to pick up a mexican who could do it for them?

then you would have complained about the taco sauce on your seats (thumb)

I bet you were a real dick when dealing with them so you got the "special" treatment

infact he did not specifically say that, he dodged the issue

When I worked at a shop as the detail guy I loved working on cars for guys like you. Neutral drops, brake stands, etc...

If you had that attitude when you went in you can probably rest assured that all of the lot techs took turns having a good time with your car.

Also, how did you expect them to detail your car in 2 hours?

as far as being a dick? **** you both. i wasn't at all

get off the board and out of my thread

...Keleko- I think you probably should have stayed there when you first picked up your car to make sure everything was perfect before you left, so that way you could have torn up your contract and walked away from the deal without giving them anything. If you had threatened that, you KNOW your sales guy would have done ANYTHING to make sure the car was delivered to your approval. Unfortunately, after the dealer gets your money, they don't really care about making things right. The sale is all that matters, and doing "free" service (or just about any service at the dealer) doesn't rank high in their book. You're much better off doing it yourself, or going to a trusted independant shop to get work done. I know you only went to the dealer so they could correct the problem, but in reality, they've already got your money from the sale, so they could care less.
Sorry you had to go through all of that to find out.

yeah, i know exactly what you mean, except it ws close to 7 on a saturday
anyone except sales ppl were gone for the weekend

ahhahahahah sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo true, when i worked at the shop we did the same thing. Loved it when people came in like this cause then the boss looked the other way when i did burn outs all over the place and half assed it.

its the people who come in tell u to take your time and not to hurry that get grade A+ service from techs and other service people. (first)

and i DID say take your time, i had plenty to spare today
i wasn't in any rush

LOL, let me get this straight, they offered for free to clean up your vehicle and all you did was b**** about it? What are you too lazy to pick up a vacuum or go to a car wash yourself? I don't get it.

To request your car to look as clean as the day it came off of the assembly line is ridicilous.

why would that be ridiculous?

except for a bit of road crap from being loaded on the truck and driven here from the port, there shouldn't be a damn thing dirty about it

as i said in the 1st post, would you accept a box of dishes from wally world if when you opened it up there was food stuck to it?
of course not.

The problem with this Stormtrooper is that people nowadays walk all over you. Sometimes you have to be an asshole to get s*** done correctly. Trust me on that. Do I agree with being polite, yes. Does it always work, absolutely not.

i made it a point to not be an ass when i asked for what i said

the jackass i talked to pretty much interuppted me and doged the question

I guess what I meant was to ask nicely first, then escalate from there. The guy's first reply was a demand even though the tech said he didn't do that.

damn right it was a demand, a demand for what i was told i would get in the 1st place

Dang if lint on the dash gets your panties in that much of a bunch, I would hate to see what a real issue would do to you. What, on the roof with a rifle?

Take a deep breathe... and get over it.

you have no idea how close i can come to just exactly that

it's a good thing i have a place where i can type this s*** out instead of unleashing my rage on a person or property

i totally see where keleko is coming from sure he was prolly having a little attitude but y the **** not. when i went to buy my car that s*** was so clean on the inside and out, maybe a lil dust but it was defintaly cleaned. and thats the way it should be. he has every right to b****. they promised him a clean car and instead all he got was a half assed job, and an oil change that took 2.5 hours.
there running a business that sounds like they dont like taking care of paying customers

finally someone who understands my view (thumb)

You crack me up keleko. Are you going to reply to eveyone that replied in your thread. You have the right to be mad but hopefully you didn't start off as an ass. Like I said before sometimes people take advantage of you if you are too nice. Gotta put your foot down evey once in a while.

i didn't, and i do put it down often

rule #1: the customer is always right
rule #2: if the customer is wrong see rule #1
rule #3: if the customer says do it this way, do it this way
rule #4: NEVER piss off a customer

don't remember where i saw the stat, but one negative customer will prevent 11 other possible customers

I'm with keleko on this one if, as he says, he was polite about it.
If you buy a new car, it had better be spotless when you drive it off the lot for the first time.
And as for getting 'more flies with honey', as it were, it's the SERVICE DEPT who should be nice to the customer first, not the other way around. Gimme a break.
The only thing I would disagree about is, asking the service dept to detail the car since they don't really perform that service. I would have taken the salesman aside that sold me the car, explained the problem with a firm tone, and ask for a convenient time to bring the car back and have them send it out for a proper cleaning.

Ok who the hell waits 3 weeks to decide..hey my car is dirty I should have them clean it, I mean after all it was supposed to be clean.

WTF? I mean seriously. If I went and took a test drive in a car like you described it (which I assume was the interior was filthy) I wouldn't have purchased it until they cleaned it how I wanted it, and filled up the tank. You don't purchase a car then b**** about it later.

On top of that, you bring it back 3 weeks later...as far as I'm concerned you made the interior of the car even more messy and decided hey I could get a free detailing out of it.

You sir are what I'd like to call a asshole.

I bitched about my car and that it had a few lines in the clear coat. They buffed it and it looks like a spider tried to ensnare my car.

Do NOT go to the dealership to get your car detailed, they don't know what they are doing. In fact, once you buy the car, never return.
