Headlight Options...

I can give a ball park price for them for now. Until we have them in our hands it will be an estimate though.

$842 for the pair.

Hey CorkSport? What ever happened to selling these projectors? You never posted photos either. What happened? :)

I am guilty as charged. I am waiting for a pair of harnesses to arrive so I dont have the splice the wiring for the headlights. They wiring is still 3-4 weeks away.

Derrick, do you have the lights there? If so i wouldnt mind some detailed photos of the back of the lights and the connectors in comparison to the stock connectors.

The problem is I don't have the HID headlight connectors to show the differences. I do have a set of the headlights here but they are just the housings.

So the lights have a seperate harness for the bulbs/ballasts/igniters as opposed to the US Spec lights which have built in harnesses for the bulbs and the light has a seperate power supply? I'll take as much info on those lights as possible. I assume they use D2S bulbs for the projector? What high beam bulbs do they use? Does all the mounting points appear identical? Any info is much appreciated

The ballast, headlight housings, and harness are separate parts from Mazda. The mounting points of the lights are the same in the chassis of the 2. I will have to look at the housings again for the bulb type, I dont remember.

Interesting. Definitely good to know. If the high beam is a 9005 I could have a killer light set up. Can the projector be unbolted from the back of the housing or would the assembly need to be opened up first?

Here are a few pictures of the back and bottom of the japanese project headlights. The hi beam on the light says H3B

Excellent, thank you Derrick. You see the electrical plug beneath the high beam spot, that is the power supply to the headlight. The low beam definitely looks D2S and the plug with built in igniter is in the the light there. The HB3 is infact 9005 which is awesome. 9011 HIR1 bulbs are a direct replacement at twice the lumen output at 65w. Best guess is it looks like the assembly would have to opened to unbolt the projector. Still looks promising. Definitely post progress as it goes on. Do you guys have any D2S HID kits laying around? If so, you could pop a D2S bulb in it and fire the kit up to check out the output. Or if you guys have any cars around the shop that use D2S bulbs, you could do the same using the car. Just some suggestions!

EDIT: I'm also assuming since these are the JDM lights that the cutoff shields are stepped for RHD?

The plug below the high beam is for the headlight leveling system motor. I am just going to run them fixed and adjust the height.

We do not have any HID kits in the shop to light up the unit for now.

Hmm. I wonder then how the low beam D2S plug/igniter is being powered unless that plus cut and just sitting in the housing? I'm thinking it is the power supply, also powering the leveling motor. Though I could be wrong, just trying to figure it all out!

There is a sub harness which connects to all of the lights which I don't have yet. The HID unit bolts to the bottom of the headlight and plugs to the green connector which plugs to the back of the bulb.

Interesting. Definitely post progress and pictures when everything is in

Those are retrofited lights, not the OEM setup. This may be the route I go. Depending on how much he's selling them for, you might be able to do it cheaper yourself.

Yeah? What happened with this?

Although rchrist364 says that they won't respond to emails i hit them up with 2 very adamant ones. Let's see what happens. If something does I'll post it.

As was stated: They have not responded to my emails.... at all. Pretty weak business practice.
