Headlight Life Expectency

Lets all invite the design engineers to a party and beat the H__l out of them for the placement of the low beam bulbs. I've never had to change the high beam bulbs which are so easy to get to, but I'm on the change the low beam bulbs 2 to 3 times a year team.

The only thing "wrong" with throwing HIDs in a non proextor housing is your light output goes EVERYWHERE instead of being directed like a projector does.

I angled my headlights as far down as they go, thus to not blind oncoming traffic. Still gets great light output on the road, and doesn't blind oncoming traffic like some do when they dont angle their lights down.
+2 on the aiming. My brights hit the road as close as my fogs do because of it but the HIDs in the low beams are plenty and the brights are basically useless now, just extra fogs. I will say that 35w is plenty for the headlights as well as the fogs. IMO, 55w is overkill for street and uneccessary strain on wiring plus the extra glare for other drivers. That being said, I am going with 55w HIDs in my truck but they will be in my Hella offroad light housings and only used offroad as the projectors are fine and the oem fogs have 35w HIDs in them.

Oh, and while we're at it.............not sure what everyone else's issue is with the Silverstars. Got my car in Jan 04, swapped to Silverstars in summer 04 and have gone thru those and 1 other pr before swapping to 35w 6000k HIDs last year. 2 pr in 5 yrs. Glad to be the exception? Again, not sure what's up with this, just lucky? Would rather be lucky in the lottery like that, lol.
