Hi All,

Been trying to figure out these brakes for quite some time now. The stock pads come with clips to hold the caliper retainer for the outboard pad, however, these pads don't have said clips. I've been told that these fit 2007 MS3's but can I really install these without the retainer clip? If anyone has any advice it would be very much appreciated as I really need to change my pads. Got a picture of the HPS pads and they also don't have the clips for the retainer. Also, I really don't want to spend $200 bucks for stealership brakes.

Thanks,

Eric

I'm wondering the same thing I just bought the HPS pads part#hb549f.702... and no outer pad clip?!?!? I know the EBC and AutoEXE pads have the clip. And the picture of the HPS's I found on street unit showed the clip... so what gives!

I just saw the picture and those pads are definitely wrong. Not sure what hawk did there, but I just checked the sets we have in stock and they have the correct clips on all pads.

You can just order them from our website http :// mazdabrakes .com

Or give us a call at 781-347-4237 and I can take your order on the phone.

Thanks,

Make sure when you do those pads that you bend the tab because when you push back the caliper , and fit the front pads into place they won't go in smoothly. Another note to make is that if you take a drill and then drill out the two holes just a thousands of an inch you can use the OEM kit that you can rent at your auto store for changing brakes, using the smallest adapter.

I gave up and returned the HP+ pads. They SHOULD come with the clips and I honestly think they just cheaped out and figured people would solder or find another way to get the old stock clips on there. I ordered new stock pads from my local Mazda dealer. $200 which sucks, but they have the correct clips for the retaining spring. Brakes are important and I wanted to make sure that I had the right parts. The stock pads are a very good quality at least. I will post the correct part number for the front brake pads when I get home so everyone knows and doesn't have to do all this back and forth crap finding correct parts. Thanks for the responses!
