Hey there! My husband and I haven't taken our honeymoon yet and we were considering Hawaii. Can anyone recommend a hotel/resort that's secluded/romantic y'know, the usual honeymoon stuffs. :D Also, any seasonal recommendations would help too. I figure this can give me my tropical paradise fix w/o having to get a new passport. :p Thanks in advance! :D

First of all it depends on what island your going to. Next it depends on what your price range is. If you coming to Oahu (Honolulu) then its either your'll be somewhere in Waikiki which is pretty much a tourist city thats always crowded (don't get me wrong its still nice) or like hawaiian_msp stated Ihilani which is on the other side of the island. Its very secluded and nice but if you want to have activities and shopping, etc your going to end up driving about an hour or so to come back to Waikiki anyway..... If you just want to veg at a resort Ihilani is nice.

Remember were just talking about Oahu now...if your going to another island Maui is where I would recomend....

Now if Waikiki is where you were planning on let me know......I work for Starwood Hotels & Resorts and before that worked in the Travel industry for 10+ years... so should be able to recomend some good hotels (not just starwood hotels even though they do have some of the best hehe....) I won't be able to get you any deals because the department I work in has nothing to do with rooms but I can always give advice, etc...... Aloha

Awesome, thanks a lot you guys! Unfortunately I think you're right about ending up driving back to Waikiki anyway - we get bored very easily. :D Can you tell me more about what Maui may have to offer? Thanks!

Maui is great! Stay in Kaanapali and you'll be set! Or Kapalua Bay is nice.....

My personal favorites that you won't go wrong:

Westin Maui
Sheraton Maui
Kaplua Bay Resort

All in the Deluxe category so a little pricey....

OMG!!! How much to go there NOW! Wow, beautiful pics. Gonna go check those hotels out now, thanks! :D

I got married and had my honeymoon at Turtle Bay resort. It is a great hotel! My wife and i watched whales migrating from our balcony.

Turtle Bay is the way to go on Oahu...

Glad you like em. the one pic above the clouds thats in Maui at Mt. Haleakala its like heaven on earth you drive above the clouds and watch the sunrise....its freezing cold so be ready! And be prepared to leave your hotel at about 3:00am in the morning. The nights are nice in Lahaina town lots to eat and some shopping too....but Maui isn't a place to party and shop it a place to kick back and relax and be loving with someone....if you want to party or shop you need to come over to Honolulu where you'll see us pimpin' our Mazda's!! hehe...

MAUI is NO KA OI (THE BEST) its the perfect place to go for your honeymoon! i would go to Lahaina or Kihei for hotels many to choose from. one to come to mind is Grand Wailea. also a must is go to Hana and Haleakala crater. hope it helped!

well oahu for the hustle and bustle of city life... ESPECIALLY TRAFFIC lol. if u wanna get away, then big island, kauai, or maui. IF YOUR REALLY WANT SOMETHING ROMANTIC and laid back, go to molokai ranch. very quiet and peaceful :) gl! - chris

another good secluded hotel on oahu is KAHALA MANDARIN! its in town so not to far from everything but yet away from all the hustle and bustle of the city! its on of the two hotels in hawaii that AAA five diamond rated! the other is HALEKULANI but thats IN waikiki! but anyhow HAWAII period is a good place to vacation! youll love the people! hehe! but chris is and everyone else is right! more sceneary on the other islands!

I'm from Canada....so is there any place in Hawaii that is under $150/night??? I'm being serious here, if there isn't I might as well go somewhere else.

Sounds like you guys should be driving BMWs and Benzs not Mazdas !!:)

I agree. Ko'Olina is beautiful. That is where I stayed when my wife and I were there last month.

The Grand Wailea is P.I.M.P. :) I'm also a big fan of the Westin Maui. Beautiful property.

Hanalei Bay on Kauai is beautiful. Jurrasic Park, King Kong, and Fantasy Island were all filmed on Kauai. It gets rainy on the Hanalei Side in the summer, but all the waterfalls and rainbows make up for the inconvenience.;)
Poipu is on the South Side. It's really pretty too, and more "resort oriented" than the North Shore(unless you're a zillionaire staying in Princeville) and it doesn't rain as much. I love Kauai and plan on retiring there someday. :)

Check out:
The Fern Grotto
The Napali Coast
The Spouting Horn
Waimea Canyon
Polihale beach

...to name a few nice spots on Kauai.

There are alot....you get what you pay for....anything under $100 a night will be in the low standard to economy class and I dont recomend it too much unless you really don't care about the hotel since you'll be out most of the time anyway..... tell me your price range and I can give you a list of suggested hotels for the price range....

i agree. u can stay my place $100 a night, i have a nice view of the whole city ;) lol jp dude, no more room for more people :( but i agree with hawaiiannights. i say, get a cheap hotel room... well not too cheap and find an easy location. waikiki is nuts trying to drive threw. i personally hate driving in waikiki because so many roads are one way and parking and people and ya lol.

ull be out shopping, site seeing, at the beach, skydiving... (ive done it, its fun hehe), so dont worry too much about getting a nice room. gl! - chris
