Door handle and window switch pieces are cake, just take the door panel off and you get easy access to em. The only nightmare about removing the faceplate is that you have to go into contortionist mode to get under the drivers foot well to disconnect the temp control cable (and I think one other?) so that the plate comes free

HK - I have a PDF for taking off the door panels.

Aaaaanddd 49996 miles on the car and it decides to spew coolant all over my nice clean engine bay... great...

On my way home from work today out of the blue the thing decides to start to overheat on the parkway home *crossed my fingers* and made it home OK
Only to open my hood and find green everywhere all over my intake, battery housing, fuse box gross.
Flushed the system and still overheats when holding revs @ 2500rpm for 5 min as per the service manual only made it to 2 1/2 minutes until it started to overheat.
It stays and normal operating temperature when at idle.
Did a little research on the forum and I am concluding the thermostat is stuck, going to Advanced Auto Parts and going to pick up a new one.
I'll have to replace it in the morning when I can see >.< UHG

So I got the car fixed this morning. Replaced my thermostat with a Stant 180* from Advance. 20 minutes later, no overheating, no spewing, no check engine light :D

Haha yeah it was. And now NY AC is running cooler since replacing it too! Win win.

Installing my glowshift gauges today with my boyfriend :)

Nice! What pod you using? Triple DIN pod?

I had Prosports in above my radio

Its a black triple column pod that I bought from kamon8404.
I still have my stock Double din radio in the car...for now(evil)

Ran my constant through what I am assuming is where my clutch would have been if it was a manual. This is before I drilled a hole through the plastic just so I had an idea of what I was looking at (pardon the hanging random wire. That's my aux wire being run around to my phone mount) I grounded them to the bolt inside the fuse box and piggybacked my switch to my radio fuse. Im having some trouble with the mounting of the gauge pod though. Despite the fact that it is still up there. It would not fit over the existing A-Pillar with the wires behind the gauges and without the A-Pillar there there really is no good place for it to stick to. I have to figure out something better for it. Suggestions welcome as always.

Still have to buy the adapter for the oil gauge to function, but at least it has power and i ran all my wires for power for 3 gauges. I'll post a picture at night later it looks so sick.

And here's some pics I took for fun the other day with my point and shoot. I love the new stance I have with the CF spoiler lip

Loose the roof rack and toss a lip on it!
(unamused) No me gusta. I looooove my roof rack. And besides I need somewhere to put my snowboard racks come winter!

As for the lip, I already have the show n' go mounted to the bottom of mine and it was such a b**** to get on that I'd like to leave it there a little while longer haha.

Also my driveway is really steep to get up, I scratch on occasion and my mudflaps are always hitting when I go down. Some of my friends bottom out on it...

So I'll be more likely to think about a lip when I move out. Haha but thanks for the suggestion wheelman! (2thumbs)

Thanks! Trying to keep everything neat and have all my mods complimenting each other.
May be starting to get a little rice, but its all good, it makes me happy and that's really all that matters.

My wife won't ditch her racks either (Which is fine by me, gives a place for surfboards lol)

and the only lip is the MSP lip! Trust me, i had 3

And does that 3 have a Mazdaspeed wing from an RX8 on it?

I agree with the MSP lip, I've had the others on the car and this one fits it the best. My buddy has that same wing on his Mazda3, never thought i'd see another one is a similar color with the same wing..

That's my boyfriend Mark's stormy blue 3 and mariner blue miata. He has the RS spoiler on the 3, it looks very similar to an RX8 wing.

In other news, I'm going camping in the P5 this weekend :D

So...camping was amazing. The P5 held up like a champ, dirt roads and all. (Pics soon to come)

However...about a week or so i noticed a new gurgly noise from the engine bay...i naively dismissed it as some funky intake noise...wrong.
Wednesday night I heard knocky flutters coming from the right of the engine bay (from inside the car). Which progressively got worse.
I never lost power steering, it was not rpm dependent, and did not go away once the car warmed up.

By that time it was late at night, and I had work the next morning. Took it to the shop Thursday morning. I needed an oil change and I figured they could tell me what was going on.

Then I get the call...it's the water pump, the timing belt, springs and gaskets and whatnot...uhg...I don't have time for this an I get quoted $400-$500...lovely...

Should get the car back tomorrow morning running like a champ...What a god damn headache though...
