Hey my name is Mike, and i am new to the forums, didn't even think before to check something like this out, have got alot of useful info from reading all the forums. i have a 2007 speed3 and i want to lower it, i like the looks and handling of a fairly low car so i was thinking either the H&R springs with an aftermarket strut or going with the BC Coilovers? i also can't stand the look of a lowered car that looks lower in the back then in the front.what would you recommend? and why? i really need some help on this as i don't want to buy something and wish i had got the other, especially if i'm about to throw down over a grand. what do you guys think about just going with the H&R lowering springs and going with stock struts till i need to buy new ones, or will the ride be to bouincy with out them? thanks alot guys any info will definately help. i am also going to buy some new wheels and tires as well and want to know what rim and tire size goes the best with having a low speed.

Welcome to the forums. Should have posted this in the Tires, Brakes and Suspension forum, though. The "Marketplace" forum is the classified ads. I'm sure a Mod will move it...

I got a set of BC Coilovers you can buy, they are great. Fully adjustible ride height and stiffness, and they change the handling of the car dramatically. 225/40/18 clears the fender better when dropped.

hi Mike, before this is moved my Cobb springs did exactly what you want for looks. And they are designed for the stock struts. 250 or so. Good luck!

how much for your BC coilovers? and how many km on them. are they difficult to install, oh and another question, are they still tuned for the speed3, would be deadly to just have to install them and have the same ride you had, i am sure you had them tuned in perfect, do you have any pics of the car with them installed. i am in the position to buy them anytime, just not sure how difficult it is to install

They are still set to the settings I had them at, it's about a 1.5" drop. The front sits slightly lower than the rear. If you are comfortable with tools, the install is a piece of cake. New they are like $950 or so. Mine have ~1,500 miles on them, and I have them in my for sale thread for $800 shipped to your door. The only reason I'm selling them is because I'm returning to stock for now, if I had a choice I wouldn't sell them!

Its easier to install a full set of coilovers rather than swap springs anyday. Rear can be abit tricky depending on the vehicle.

I would advise spending another 100 or so and get the H&R coilovers vs the BC

I've been running H&R coilovers for almost a year now and am happy with them. Very acceptable ride with improved handling over stock. It's a great D&D setup and it's a bit on the soft side so if you plan to track the car a lot then it may not be the best setup seeing that it does not have adjustable damping.

Please provide some information backing your opinion. I would like to hear it.

Same here, I'm currently stuck between the two of these. AKAIK, H&R does use Bilstein parts, but don't offer any kind of adjust ability. I've heard great things from speed3 users about the BC coilovers, but some not so great stuff about BC in general with how they use very general parts when making a coil kit.

For those of you running the BC coilovers..... I know they come with adjustable camber plates for the front. How adjustable are they? I hear you have to cut into the chassis to obtain maximum negative camber? Any other opinions you could give me about the BC coilovers would be great.
