Guitarists?

I dig it. My only comment is that I find it funny how many upcoming bands have clean vocals similar to the likes of Fall Out Boy and Panic At The Discos' styles. Nothing wrong with it, just all so similar. I dig the riffing going on. Thumbs up.

I've always loved tube bass amps. They sound perfect to me. I borrowed my friends 1973 Fender Bassman for the studio for my last bands album with my Epifani cab and it sounded amazing. I begged him to sell it to me (he bought it from a crackhead for $100 and it was just collecting dust in his music room) but he wouldn't. So my drummer friend asked if I was still interested in a vintage Bassman, well of course I am. He said our bassist friend has a spare he would sell to me for $325. A 1968 silver face that was just re-tubed/valved 6 years ago. Hell yes!

Then my gf is a piano/violin teacher at a music store for the last 5 years and she said they just became an authorized Fender dealer and she can probably get me a bass at cost. She said they just got in 12 Fender basses today and I should come check them out.

Today is my day for Fender gear! (wiggle)

Hot damn man! Good stuff.

I think I'm going to work on restoring the twin reverb downstairs. When it worked well, it sounded amazing. Something happened, and now it's acting up. I too have love for Fender tube amps (as the basement shows... haha)

Gibson is doing something similar. But... Gibson kinda needs that for it to stay in tune for a single song... lol.

I heard there were robotic tuners that would physically tune it. I think the Peavey is simply an auto-tune function so the strings aren't "tuned".

That Gibson is crazy though. It even tells you how to adjust your intonation. Jeeeez...

Fiddled with my Dime-o-Flame the other day and got the bridge back to where it should be. I love Floyd Roses when they're set and you don't have to fiddle with them. HATE them when they need work.

Yeah, changing strings is a pain, but they are so awesome. I honestly haven't bought myself a non-floyd in at least 6 years. I use a 9-volt battery under the floyd when I take strings off to prevent the springs from pulling the floyd in the body. Once I string it up and get it close to tuned, I remove the battery and the floyd is close to level with the body. Then I adjust as the strings stretch over the next few days

I may try that method in the near future. I need new strings on that guitar. Pisser is I can't remember what gauge I used. Normally, I'm a 009-042 guy, but I think I ran 010-046 on that guitar. I get to screw with it all over again.

Yeah, I may do that. It's hard to say what should be on it because I got it used and there's no telling how many times it's been setup or screwed with.

.09 to .10 isn't a huge change for a guitar. True, the action on the bridge will change (slightly) but shouldn't be a big deal. I guarantee you that guitar came with .10 strings

Yeah, I was thinking that too. .10's are pretty common all around. Regardless, plays a lot better now. Such a fun guitar to play, even if it's 5' long.

Get a set of elixir strings. They run a bit more but are worth it. They are coated which prevents rusting and allows smooth sliding.

I've used them. Only liked them on my acoustic. Hated the sound on the electric.
