For example, for the 'historic' custom shop les pauls, they go through a very specific selection process for the mahogany that they use, which is why you hardly ever find a dud from one of those batches. Its the same thing for the more expensive 'regular shop' models, just to a lesser degree. Thats not to say you can't get a studio thats 10x better than a certain les paul standard.

I say go for a used SG, the perfect middle between a Gibson and a Fender. Check out Everything SG

And even tho' I have always been a Fender (Strat) guy at heart, you gotta love the fat, in-your-face sound of a Les Paul at full scream.
My advice, sell the PRS and get an Tele AND a Les Paul. Used if you have to, to afford both.

We talked about possibly changing out my tubes (he can get me all new tubes for about $150) and he also talked me into getting all the cables. So I went to play the guitars and ended up just spending over $100 on three new monster cables. he also said he would come by my house sometime and help me set my amp to get some real good sounds. I went home and spent about an hour playing with settings and I am getting happier with my PRS and may keep it
no, they really are nice cables, he was explainging some really cool stuff about them. Plus, they have lifetime warranty, If ANYTHING happens, I can bring them in and get new ones free of charge. and I mean anything, he told a story about how a guys studio caught on fire and Monster replaced EVERY cable he had in the studio for free
He suggested I hold off on the tubes though. I have had my triple rec for four years now and thought I should change them, but he said he has had the same tubes in his amp since 93, I will still change them probably this summer though. I just never know if I can get better sounds with my 6L6's or EL34's.......wow, im off topic

if your amp dont sound as good as it used to, you might look into getting it rebiased. 6L6's are crap imho. KT88's ftfw!
I have a DeltaBlues 115 and I get tubes from JJs EuroTubes which rule, he loves DBs and puts together custom sets. I was using my other guitar players Triple Recto for a while and in my opinion it doesn't hold a candle to my DB.Yell03SpecV said:
