Guage Rings - Pics

There will be a CD included on how to install but the quick jiff:

Lower your steering wheel as far down as it will go.
Place a towel over the steering column to keep from scratching it.
Take a medium Phillps head screwdriver and remove the two screws that are on top of the black cover.
Then gently pull the cover.
Once the black cover is all there are three screws holding the gauge cluster in (2 bottom, 1 top-will need a small screwdriver to reach it easily)
With those removed the gauge cluster can come out, unclip the three wires and remove it
Remove cluster fully and take it inside.

Then there are 7 push clips that hold the clear plastic cover on, pop those off with a flat head screwdriver.
Then pop the rings on pressing around all the edges.
Install the gauge cluster in reverse order.

He had to video online I'll see if I can find it again.

about 30-35 for the rings.

And anyone who PMed him in the past weeks try again since he was pretty busy in personal life and Kelly had the flu I think.

my rings still popout even after putting double side tape ALL AROUND the inside of the middle ring, but in this picture it is only 1.5mm out and i think it stoped moving (i forced some more tape in lol) you can't really notice it so i am happy with it now

Yo dude, where did you get that gauge? It goes up to 220! Where can I get one!

Karlos!

my middle ring started to pop out on the top, but the bottom is still snapped on strong.. it's a matter of time before it completely falls off.. but no worries, i'm going to take it back out and fix it tonight when i get home from work.. i'll snap it back into place and see if it holds any better.. if it starts falling again, i'll resort to some double-sided tape or some type of adhesive..

i just got mine and according to what Dave tells me, it's a newer design that should snap into place tighter and hopefully not need any kind of adhesive to keep it in place.. i'm wondering if i just didn't snap it down tight enough when i initially installed it.

the same thing kept on happening to me. i told dave and he sent me the new ring and threw in butyl tape. i think the tape made all the difference. even with double tape, the speedometer ring would start to fall of after a couple of days. now, they've been on for a couple of months now and haven't moved at all. the butyl tape really works.

I haven't had any problems with my rings falling off.. :)
But then again, I always TRY and avoid big ol' potholes and the likes.. :D

butyl tape sounds like a good solution.. it will adhere and is pliable.. my speedo ring has since come loose again.. i'll pick up some butyl tape or something similar next..

what the heck is butyl tape? Just double sided?

Anyways, I'm getting my 2003.5 today, I'll get the rings put on asap. I'm interested in seeing them on with the silver needles.

I'll take pics.

I'm just waiting for that call, you know the one, come get it, the car is ready....arg
