Anyone have this game? It's really sweet, but extremely hard. The physics are supposed to be super accurate down to things like tire temperature. I bought this game then went out and got the Momo-Logitech Wheel and Pedals. The sounds of the cars are actually sampled from the real cars, so it sounds so badass with the surround sound.

It also comes w/ a copy MoTeC performance software. During the game, it records all kinds of information, then sends it to the MoTeC analyzer so you can test and tune.

Here's some praise for it:

Yeah, I just can't keep up with the computer hardware world. I'd rather put the money into my car. Sometime next year I'll probably save up a few grand and build the be-all-end-all gaming machine and be happy for 6 months. Then be pissed off again when gaming sevelopment soars past my machines capabilities. Yay consoles!

The graphics look horrible! Gran Turismo 2 had better rendering that that. I know it's all about realism, but still...

Nope haven't tired nor really heard anything of it.

and PCs shouldn't be outdated in 6 months for games. Yes there will be newer faster computers, but hey look at cars. In a year a new hotter model comes that that generally makes previous ones look bad.

Build a decent computer and it should last you for years with any game to come.

I did build a nice one at one point. In 1998, I built a computer with some of the hottest parts out there. Pentium 2 processor at 350 mhz, 128 mb of ram, 3.2 gig hard drive, voodoo 2 graphics card, etc etc. Within a year I had to buy new ram and a new hard drive just to fit the new games on my computer, much less run them. I eventually set fire to the voodoo2 because it was too slow to handle the new stuff coming out like freespace 2. And now gaming tech is advancing SO much faster than it did back then.

I say screw it. I'm done with computers unless it's word processing or multimedia enjoyment. Just not worth the cost for the benefits.

in 98, during a time frame when computers were busting along. You could have bought a 98 Protege....look how far behind you would be in comparison today...

Computers have slowed down alot in the development area in terms of bounds and leaps of performance.

That's true...I built up a sweet computer two years ago and it can still play the latest games, except I need to turn the graphics down on some of them.

My current setup:
Abit NF7-S
AMD Athlon XP 3200+
Ge-Force 4 Ti4200
512MB Geil PC3200
Creative Audigy Gamer
120gb SATA HDD

hmmm. for the cost of the ultimate gaming machine i could have a built motor, it's really not even a contest.

What an amazing game! The physics and sounds are just unreal. The G-Loads are portraited very well through the in-car view. It's very hard to play with the pad...need a steering wheel hehe.

i have this gamem graphics blow. try toca race driver 2. best pc racer imo.
