fr0st said:the stock turbo is ball bearing??
Kansei said:yup.. the smallest dual ball bearing turbo Garrett makes![]()
fr0st said:that nice.. exept if i ever need to change it for soemthing similar.. then 'ill have trouble finding one if mine blows.. (poke)
i bet if i put a bigger one like a GT28R or something like that it's gonna push too much air for the same 6 PSI and will lean out the engine and blow..
when changing turbo size, i guess it's where $$$ are needed for tuning.

I am running about 17PSI with the stock block and I have 113,000 miles now.
It has been ported, polished, ceramic coated and had GT28 guts stuffed inside. The manifold was ported, polished and ceramic coated.
With the 3'' GHL exhaust (among other things) it pulls so viciously that it has killed my 309 ftlb Spec clutch. Hopefully this spring I will install the new 450 ftlb clutch. I don't want to have it slip EVER
It has instant thrust and pulls hard all the way to redline.
I love mine.
Well my Wife's car is about to be paid off and then mine is next. I don't ever plan on getting rid of the Speed even after I get a new car. What would be the point? I drive close to 30,000 miles a year so leasing or trade in is not really a wise option for me.msp35 said:I want to see someone take this upgrade to the max.

Kansei said:The GT2554R is listed by Garrett as being dual ball bearing..
Mazdaspeed2oo35 said:not necesarily, you just need to find the right place to purchase the parts, and the right people to intalled them and tuned them. it's more easy than what you really think.

Still a nice setup though, good luck with it.

tunning, port and polish and dynos and transmission work was done by a shop, ovbiously
but forged and everything else was done by me and him...
that's all i got to say
continue..
