Then why do people buy honda's? those motors only cost like 15$ and they will run forever... So theres not much to "pay to play" there.

Lol.

Nate, fenders are just frount, quarter panels are rear.

From an idiot you have heard the rear called fenders.

^^ in response to the wiki.... in the 1920's through and around the fourties... cars had fenders on all four wheels because the wheels were exposed.. it wasnt until the 50;'s and sixties that it became a quarter panel, ( damn auto history class ) although i head the fenderwell comment comming... that would be a different part of the car...
:-)

not that i know anything...

Then technically, based off what is being posted here.....People need to quit using "fender" being rolled to fit tires inside the "fenderwell" when referring to the rear of the vehicle and start using "quarter panel" in it's place right? Can we now correct all those threads?

Back on topic...I know these are GI threads for all this isport cf stuff but pictures will generate more interest then retoric about molds and such, IMO. Let's see some pics of all these things.

Its called Rolling the fenders because, well. Its MUCH easier to say that then to say 2 different locations. When talking about body panel work its better to say them separate because they are two MAJORLY different parts.

And there really is no way to get pictures of molds or anything, this is just for people who are 100% in for fenders and WILL buy them, not someone who will puss out and be like "omg they are just like stock fenders ewww no".... this would be a STOCK replacement, no need for pictures, thats just nitpicking out the ass.

/the truth

fore these to be structurally sound there would need to be atleast 3 layers of carbon fiber or several layers of fiberglass to back up the top layer of carbon. if the fenders are as thin as the roof cap there is no way they will hold up. not knocking isport i rock thier roof cap and i know they know what their doing im just throwing that out there with my knowledge of autobody and a carbon fanatic (i think i have more carbon than outlaw, lol) thats wut would be needed to keep these from crackin like a motha.

im guessing for fenders they would use 2 layers of carbon, a honeycomb, and two more. a roofcap has to be thin but not a hood or fenders.

you can get honeycomb ~1/8" thick, un-resined CF sheets are generally .009". shouldnt be more than a quarter inch tops. all hearsay at this point, i havent done honeycomb work yet and i dunno what isport is planning for these.

Daniel is correct. The fenders would be much thicker and more ridgid than our roof caps. Exactly what layup schedule would be determined by Bryan. He would make his analysis and engineer a layup schedule that would fit the requirements for this part. We recently infused two 16.5 foot canoes. We used two different laminates schedules, with two different carbon weaves. You can tell the difference in the final results.

Doubtful... Lol!
hood, Lip, Trunk, Gauge sround, Shiftknob(lol!) Shifter surround(cant even get anymore), Grill, Engine Cover, Air Diverter, Roof,

Soon: Fenders? lol Rear diffuser thingie, sideskirts, rear lip. And the rest of DGM inside parts.

Then ill be done... MAYBE unless someone makes something I wanst thinking of that I would want. lol!

Oh! I want the Sparco Carbon Seats... but WAY to much $! but im going to get the Fighter seats and have them overlayed in Carbon Fiber one day. haha

And thinking about them some more, I think these guys can make them a solid frount with no hole for the side marker, and sell them like that, and have option to cut the hole out for the sidemarker... It would be the best thing to do. ANd aswell as have it not have any lip (just have it little roll to it though) so people with lower offset wheels can get them and not need to cut the inside some to have the "rolled effect"

just do what im doing, putting on window visors to make it flow better, the just dont look right because they dont flow with anything.

If you look at the first post, i know me, focus, and ninja all 100% are ready right now for them. other people on that list i dont really talk to about them hardcore like. lol.

But im ready to send a deposit anytime.

last i talked with them it sounded like they were gonna do it. no one has made fenders for the protege to my knowledge, and making a mold of an OEM part is way simpler than making a pattern and mold of something new entirely. im sure theyll want deposits, but i dont think its gonna be as big an issue as the diffuser.
note - i dont base this statement on anything, its entirely up to isport.

I updated the first post with people who have the sidemarker.... Just a FYI, besides that one guy who i dont know haha.
