Green key, no start only happens sometimes

Well I'm new here but enjoying the board and have come across another odd lil thing. Sometimes when I get in the car (06 MS6) with advanced key, it wont start even though I get the green key icon on the dash then 3 or 4 try's later at turning the knob (no key needed remember) it will start like normal.

This happens maybe 50% of the time and though its not the end of the world its annoying. ANyone else have this odd problem and what was the fix? Or am I dense and just have no idea what arcane sequence of rituals I need to use to start the car?

What else is on the keychain?? If you have another transponder key it may cause interfearance...

Nothing else is near the electronic key card, its the one that looks like a credit card and my wife keeps it in her purse in its own pocket, I keep mine in my pocket that I dont put my cell phone in.

have you repl the key card battery?? If this is a reoccuring issue (and it sounds like it is) maybe a trip to the dealer is in order...

mine does that occasionally, but i've always just assumed it was the clutch not liking the amount of pressure on it. i've always been able to just readjust my foot (while keeping the nub turned) and it starts like normal.

So I replaced the battery's and it still did it so I tried a little test, I used the valet key and it still did it so it has a hard time starting with either the advanced remote and the regular key. I can only surmize that this vehicle has a clutch switch that is not working and wont let it start now and then. I need to take the car in for the Mazdaspeed CAI that broke (another story) but Ill have them look at this too.

Found my own answer, yep there is a small safety switch as I thought. If it is worn, sticky or malfunctioning it will make starting hard. I used some spray on cleaner for electronics now it starts every time.
