greddy type-s question

this is probably a dumb question, but there appear to be 2 vacuum hose barbs on the greddy type-s. i know the one on the purple piece gets connected, but does the bottom barb? and if it needs to have a vacuum source, does it need to be different than the top barb, or can i just splice into that line?

I asked this question when I installed mine about a year ago and most people responded that they just left it open or plugged it. I have mine open.

Just leave it open. It is for a boost only source to help push the valve open. I am guessing it is for higher boost applications. A boost only source would be like a vac line with a one-way check valve. It only sees pressure when it is positive.

If you have the stock intercooler, there is a nipple at the bottom of it that will act as a boost only source.

1st pic = nipple on intercooler(duh)
2nd pic is where my boost source is. Tapped into the compressor housing of the turbo. You don't have one of those.
