okay guys today i accidently left my lights on at work and when i came out to go to lunch my battery was dead. so i got someone to jump me and my turbo timer was flipping out. so i had to go back set the speedometer portion and i went ot set the rpm portion and i set it up but instead of reading the rpms it just starts counting from 0 up to a random number. so i tried it agian, and it woudl count up to a diff number over and over agian, if i re set it it woudl start counting and count to a diff number the go back to zero and count up to it agian in a loop. i dunno whats wrong with it.

anyone know what could possibly be wrong or if i just screwed it up maybe. or is there a way to reset the thing to how it was when u first got it?

any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

...s*** dude...uhm... hate to say it...but you shoulda disconnected the timer before getting the jump.....
it says in my HKS manual:
Note: If the vehicles battery is replaced or jumped, unplug the turbo timer 3 pin harness to avoid any possible voltage spikes which may damage the turbo timer. Reattach the turbo timer after the battery is reconnected.

:-\

Another thing to check is to make sure that the connection that senses the RPMs is good. A lot of the times, if you use wire taps instead of soldering or using crimp connectors, the connection will not be as reliable. The TT could have also been damaged from the jump start, but not highly likely.

here's the deal tho everythign worked fine, it was after the fact that my battery went dead, that this started up the connections are fine that was the first thing i looked at. everythign works fine jsut the rpm thing doesnt its like in a counting loop for some reason. could the battery going dead cause the turbo timer to some how fudgepack itself?

It's possible the battery could have caused it, but it may have been the jumpstart. Have you tried unplugging the harness, letting the TT sit for a few minutes, and then reconnect everything? Personally I haven't used Greddy TTs too much, but is there some kind of reset button? If all the wiring checks out and all the settings are correct on the TT, I would try and get it replaced under warranty.

okay, nothign in the book talks about resetting it so i'll definately unplug the harness later tonight and let it sit then plug it back in.. i'll let you guys know later on how it goes, if not i guess i'll be getting in contact with the manufacturer or maybe spoolin turbo could help me out. cuz i baught it from them. but im gonna try everthing i can first what a pain to have to send stuff back. i just hope if i do have to send it back in that im not gonna have to disconnect all the wiring lol
