Hey, im going to be putting in a boost controller. at this point its not going to be to raise the boost.

At this point its just going to be to get 15psi in first and second, and as a boost gauge; mainly the latter.

anyone have any starting point suggestions for the settings?
 
I dont think you can just set 1st and 2nd to 15psi without raising the boost in the other gears.What I do is set 4th gear to about 15-16psi and 1st and 2nd will go up to about 12-14psi.That is more then enough psi for 1st and 2nd because all I do is spin the tires in 2nd now.
 
i mean, with an ebc, it will set all the gears to the same PSI, no?

in this case will the ebc act differently than an mbc?
 
To be honest I dont know much about ebc since I never had one.You need someone to chime in who owns one already I guess.I know with the mbc you cant change 1st and 2nd to 15psi without raising 3-6 to over 18-19psi.
 
the only difference between and EBC and a MBC is the EBC is electronic...so you can change the boost via a switch using the solenoid. With an MBC you have to get out of the car and get under the hood to set it at the desired level. Unless you have some kind of super advanced boost controller they change your boost in all gears...you cannot set one gear at a certain boost level and others differently...It only changes absolute boost.
 
the ebc and mbc will raise the boost the same to all gears the only reason its lower in 1-2 is cuz of the nanny we have. i should be getting my Greddy this week and have it installed so i will let u know how it goes...

thanks im not installing it my self though gonna take it to a shop...i will let you know and you do the same...i think ima set it at 17psi...maybe do another setting for like 12psi when i wanna save gas and go on long road trips
 
it wont make a difference for normal driving.

you dont want to go too low on the boost, we already run pig rich...
 
i got one used to from a member here...hopefully he shipped on friday he hasnt been on since i sent him the money thats not a good sign...
 
I was hoping for mine today, so i could install early tomorrow... but it didnt come, so i hope for it tomorrow to install tomorrow afternoon.

at first im just going to wire up the unit for power, and hook up the vacuum hose for a boost reading... make sure all is copacetic... then wire up the solenoid for some more power...
 
i got it in yesterday when i got home....its a sweet piece and have the perfect spot for it were no one will see it...pm and ill let you in on my little hidding spot...i cant install unfortunetly till next week since my bcd is still on the way...i was reading the manual and theres a way to set the ebc to read psi instead of kpa...this device is awsome has so many cool fetures cant wait to install.....
