Pretty much need to know the easiest way to get stock bolts off!!!

i think he means the stock exhaust. well a lot of msucle helps and elbo grease as well as a breaker bar good luck rust is your friend.

the stock exhaust...yes. im trying and trying, but im not the strongest guy and the bolts suck, ahah. how about air tools?

on exhaust manifold bolts, i usually get the motor good and warmed up (if it runs). then, i start by trying to tighten the bolts a hair. after they go forward, they go backwards real easy. works if the car dont run, too. just use PB blaster.

was not sure what bolts he was reffering to, but yes a breaker bar. usually a metal bar or something of the sort to go over the tool to get better everage or torque when unscrewing things like the bolts. i used one.

If the bolts snap let me know, I just had to fix the head with Helicoils.

thanks everybody for your help, i got them off finally!!! had to run the napa n get a new 14mm socket and a can of PB blaster, i had Freeze off, but that sucks. now im a happy 20 year old

You can reuse the bolts, But I always use new ones. The old ones have been put through several hundred heat cycles and are not as strong as they should be. They are dirt cheap at Mazda.

You can also use some Anti Sieze on the new ones, it will make removal easier and because there is a lock washer on each, there is no risk of them backing off..

ok, im almost done, when i tighten down the bolts going the muffler, it looks like there is a gap still, but i think its tighted as much as possible

Exhaust Cement could be your friend.

It's a Paste and $1.50 per tube.

Before doing this, How much of a gap, Was the mani Used, Is it warped.

Do you have access to a machine shop. They could mill it true again.

Nevermind, it was just the angle i was in, it looked gappy, but i got a better look and its all sealed up, started it up and everything sounds like it should. im going to try to get a sound clip asap

Run it and see if you have any leaks. I know my exhaust system wasnt looking like it was tightened properly but i have had no leaks so i assume its just fine.

sounds real good, almost stock when idleing, then it gets nice and sexy as you shift through gears, then once your cruising, its actually pretty quiet, its not ricey at all. Im going to try to get a sound clip soon, ill post it on this thread when i do.
