Got my Spicy touch-up paint

Just wanted to let you guys know to look out for your touch-up paint in the mail if you filled out that survey you got in the mail. I got it on Saturday and it took about three weeks to arrive.

The metal flakes don't appear to be as large as in the original paint which I guess is to be expected since most rock chips are tiny and you wouldn't want to fill it in with a huge metal flake.

Looks to be a good color match though.

I guess I can finally fill in my chips this weekend.

Just wanted to let you know to be on the lookout.

i havent gotten a survey yet.. had my car 3-4 weeks? should I have gotten it by now?

I think I got my survey about 4 weeks after purchasing the car. It came in the packet with the blue LED keychain.

Is this for the US only? I filled out the Survey over 6 weeks now and i haven't gotten anything back. Who knows if my mail even got back to them?
Anyway, Mark 94 - how do you plan on putting it on? With my previous experience everytime i applied it with the brush, it would leave a 'dabb' effect, which i didn't like. Sometimes i would much rather leave the chip. Since it's hard noticable.
How can one get rid of the 'dab' or 'blob' effect and have it smooth like new!?

Limited, you are supposed to layer the paint until it reaches the same height as the factory paint around the chip. The brush is way too large and you will get that bump effect if you just use the brush.

The best method is to use a tooth pick and slowly layer the paint and allow about 30 minutes between layers. Once you have the paint at the right height you can buff the chip area and the surrounding area to where it is barely noticeable.

I'm not sure if it is just a US promotion.

Good luck................Mark

Damn, I sent my survey back over a month ago, and just got my paint in the mail today...From what I can tell, it looks like it will do a good job, but since my whole front end it getting repainted, hopefully I won't need this stuff for a while:D

July?? Were the MSP's even out then?? Or are you talking about another car?? Either way, that's something to go to the dealer and complain about...

It was for my protege5. I don't think it's a dealer issue, is it? Either way, I ended up buying a bottle a week before I received the survey in the mail, but it still would be nice to have more touch up paint.

Just to clear things up, this isn't the survey that your dealer sent you, concerning your purchase experience at the dealership.

The touch-up paint survey was included in a package with a booklet on basic functions of the Protege and a keychain. The package was lime green and orange in color and had a survey which asked what your household income was, what other cars are in your household, nationality, etc. This is the survey that if you returned, you received a bottle of touch-up paint.

I just want to make sure you are not expecting the paint after filling out the dealer survey.

I guess I filled out the dealer survey, but since it was in July I don't even remember anymore. What i do know is that it said I would receive touch up paint for filling it out. What I also know is that I haven't received it. I'm over it already. In the dealer's defense, I never got my floor mats when I bought the car ( i thought it was an option back then) I gave them a call on new years, and they told me to drop by and pick up my mats.
