got my car flashed today, now I got a check engine light!

I got my car flashed earlier today and got a engine light on now after about 50 miles of driving! I took it back and made a appointment for tommarow because they counldn't see it tonight. I hope it is ok :'( thx

I went to el dorado mazda in mckinney to get the flash, but i made a appointment to hancock mazda for tommarow, since they are right down the street.

i just checked the sensors on the air box, and they are all connected and tight. thx for the reply!

just reset your ECU. Pull the negative, then pump the brakes 2 times. Plug it all back up and no more CEL. If it comes back, take it in.

My check engine light turned on about a month ago, after I took it for an oil change. I took it back to my dealer the next week and they told me it was the 02 sensor and they had to order it, and it'll be there in a week. I went the next week to find out they ordered the wrong part, which took them 3 hours to figure that out. So I went the next week they replaced it so I went home happy 6 hours later. The same night it turned on again! WTF! Took it the next week they did the flash, I go home happy again, and then that same night the light turned on again!! And now my light turns on and off, it just turned on yesterday. Dont want to thread jack, I just thought this would be the appropriate thread to post. Can any help the both of us? Thanks a lot!!

I took it in again and they said it was the front O2 sensor went bad whenenever the fan kicked on, that it stopped giving a reading to the computer whenever the fan was on. After like 3 hours of them calling mazda/trying to figure it out thats what they told me. I haven't got the light again, but I have only driven 200 miles. Hope that helps.

I got another check engine light today. What should I do, I've brought it in many times in 1000 miles. who should I call, they must not be fixing the problem, or dont know how to diagnose it. thanks

find out what the code is with the obd2 scan tool @ autozone. it's free. then let me know.

Last time I took my car to the dealer, they said straight out "We don't know why that light is turning on."
On 10/31/03 my light turned on again, and it turned off today, so im getting pissed off! And unfortunatly, im clueless too!

They should be able to read the error codes off the ECU and tell you what they are.

like Sam said, go to autozone and ask them to use their diagnostics tool to turn off your CEL and get the readout of what sensor was triggering it. I would assume its the rear O2 sensor, i have had mine go off many times, even before the exhaust work.

I took mine into the dealer today at 7:00am, it turned off 2 days ago though, I just called and they said they still dont know anything yet. I sure hope they figure this out so it can help you diagnose the problem too man I'll message back when I get more info, thanks for all the replys!!

well they ended up giving me a rental car and told me that my car was running a lean condition, and they couldn't find out the problem. They had it all torn down and it still was when I left. They said they want to keep it until they can find out what is causing it, and might have to get someone from mazda out there. hope that helps.

Same here, I ended up getting a loaner! I left it on Friday and they said I should have it back by Monday but i doubt it. I called yesterday and they told me to call Monday morning and they might have a straight out answer!
