Got in a wreck tonight

:
03 Silver Protege5
I was just driving down the road out in the middle of nowhere and was making a left turn. This guy in an F-150 was coming the other way and had his flashers on, so I assumed he was turning right when I saw the turn signal on. Yeah I know, I'm a dumbass, but it was just a stupid assumption. Anyway, I started turning and my friend was like "Woah, dude!" but I disregarded that, because the truck was turningright; or so I thought.
Anyway, I didn't realize anything was wrong until I heard the tires squealing and the front of the truck five feet in front of my car. I hit him right in front of his rear wheel and dented his rear panel and probably broke his rear suspension and set the axle back about 6 inches. The front half of my right fender is shot, the right part of the bumper is shot, and the hoods crumpled, and the whole engine compartment swiveled to the left, so the space between the fender and the door is smaller on the driver side than on the passenger side.
The good news is the car runs and I drove it up onto the tow truck, so I'm hoping the damage wont be too bad.

Notice the big difference in door gaps in the two side pictures.

I take it you don't want the groundng kit any more? (peep)

Glad to see your atleast all right as is the other driver. Just take it easy on your back for the next few days to be sure you don't have whiplash or anything like that.

Damnit people stop getting in accidents. I feel like I started a trend!!!!!!!!

j/k Im sorry to hear about it. I feel your pain

I dunno man, those pics are kinda hard to judge by, but it looks like the whole front end of your car is twisted..this could possibly mean your car is totaled.....but hopefully I'm wrong.

thinking the same...

sorry dude, i feel your pain, hopefully its not totaled. at least your not seriosuly injured

Guys, I work at a body shop, and sad to say that's far from totalled. Gonna need 2 fenders, a hood, bumper (now's the time to get the MP3 one if you want!) a rad support, washer fluid reservior, headlight, paint time on the hood, fenders and bumper, with 1 hour blend time on each front door since it's silver. That's only a little bit as I can't see the car in person, but I see alot of accidents, and that's far from totalled. Looks like a good smack though!

<~~Former insurance employee

To determine if a vehicle is "totaled" they get an estimate to repair the vehicle and the vehicles actual worth if the damage is over 60% of the value of the car pre-accident. Since this an 02 P5 I highly doubt it's value is any more than about $8K. There would have to be less then $3200 worth of repairs.

It's an '03, actually. But if it is totalled, you might get the motor if that cheap bastard Matty doesn't follow through on it.

IT LIVES!!! The adjuster just went by and it's just body damage. No fame twistin. It went to the body shop today and should be out in a couple weeks.

Damn, that looked like your p5 got a black eye. lol. sorry. just had 2 make that statement but glad that every1 is ok.
