I was just driving down the road out in the middle of nowhere and was making a left turn. This guy in an F-150 was coming the other way and had his flashers on, so I assumed he was turning right when I saw the turn signal on. Yeah I know, I'm a dumbass, but it was just a stupid assumption. Anyway, I started turning and my friend was like "Woah, dude!" but I disregarded that, because the truck was turningright; or so I thought.
Anyway, I didn't realize anything was wrong until I heard the tires squealing and the front of the truck five feet in front of my car. I hit him right in front of his rear wheel and dented his rear panel and probably broke his rear suspension and set the axle back about 6 inches. The front half of my right fender is shot, the right part of the bumper is shot, and the hoods crumpled, and the whole engine compartment swiveled to the left, so the space between the fender and the door is smaller on the driver side than on the passenger side.
The good news is the car runs and I drove it up onto the tow truck, so I'm hoping the damage wont be too bad.
Notice the big difference in door gaps in the two side pictures.
