Goodridge Lines=Bad!!!

Okay I just finished putting in the lines...literally I just washed my hands. And it was bad. Not the installation, that was easy I even took pictures to submit for a how to thread. I'm not a moron I know I did it right even though it was my first time. Problem was when it was time to bleed the lines and I had done all that work putting them on, the things ******* LEAKED AT EVERY CORNER!!!! I am ******* pissed. Let me tell you what it was it is where the braided line and the line from the master cylinder meet. The problem is that the goodridge line uses a different sealing mechanism than the protege hard line.

Protege Hard line-the end of the piping is flanged so when the hard line is pressed against the inside of the brake line it seals by the flange becoming wedged in between the male end(hardline) and the female end(brake line). This is how it is supposed to work, kind of like a water hose.

How does the goodridge line work? beats the **** out of me I tightened it all the way to the point of the male end bolt almost stripping and there was still about half a meter of play on the hardline.

And what does this mean when you put a little pressure on it to bleed the lines four huge ******* puddles near each tire all at the same place. All I have to say is **** THAT. I'm calling their asses tomorrow. This was only supposed to be a two hour job. Damn Brits. :wtf:  :'(

I called Rafi last night to see what the deal was with the kit he sold me. Apparently he special ordered it because Goodridge told him that the kit(2001 Protege5/MP3 R.Disk) is different from other third gen protege's. Well I found this to be a bunch of bulls*** and now so did he. So being the good seller he is calling Goodridge to rectify the situation. Hopefully I will be getting a new set soon that will fit.

This is the kit not to buy from goodridge:
Part#25046

Once I find the kit we need I will tell everyone.

flare nut wrenches.... get em if you don't have em

HAHA, he said "flare nuts" :p

That sucks that you got the wrong parts there...I'm glad you'll be getting the correct ones soon though.

I've used Goodridge lines on my ZX and GSXR racebikes for years. Their braided lines have been flawless in helping slow me from 160+ mph during 1000's of race miles. Of course that does not remedy their shipping you the wrong part, but the product is good.

Before I traded in my MP3 I put those lines on my car but I got them from SRMotorsports.com. They went on perfect and didnt leak a bit. You must have gotten the wrong set.

Two things:

1) I'm assuming metric flare nut wrench for these? Does anyone know the right size? I'd hate to just buy an entire set...

2) In reading this thread: http://www.msprotege.com/forum/showthread.php?t=118053

It was noted that SS lines, esp. Goodridge (?) has a tendency to chafe and or possibly burst without explanation? What's the empirical evidence on this on Proteges? Is there any solution to avoid this chaffing? Is this a greater issue with Goodridge vs. the Corksport vs any other?
