Hi guys.. some here may not know but Ia ma long time member here. I used to have a 300 whp Mazdaspeed6. Sold it and Got a Volvo S60R recently my wifes lease on a beautiful Cross Country came to a end and we got a amazing deal on a 2007 CX9 GT model. We LOVE the car but I have some issues..
The car seems to pull to the left or even the right off the line or under any hard acceleration. Is this a common issue with Cx9s? Also the brakes were vibrating the dealer looked at them and said there perfect but need a cleaning?(boom02) but they need the car for 2 hours so I will do that sometime next week. Besides that we love it. We looked at the Honda pilot and the Higlander the cx9 was the winner for us. My best freind just got a Hybrid Aspen it's a monster but it's also a Crysler...lol
Please give me your thaughts on these minore issues..
Thanks again
ps the 20 in wheels are awesome

I meant XC70 not Cx7 in the subject I am sorry..lol

For 2007 model, the alignment problem was a known issue. There is a TSB for it. Your dealer should know. The fix is to turn the struts (or replace it in some cases).
The brake rotor seems warped. A simple re-surfacing of the rotor should do it.
Welcome to CX9.

Wierd, I just bought my CX9 on Monday and I had to drop ours off today due to the brakes vibrating too. I didnt notice any alignment issues.

Problem number one: Pulling to the right or left: I drive the CX-9 (2009) and there was no pulling. What is the pulling? The pulling is to much tauk to the front wheels, and is very command in front wheel cars. That why, you MUST test drive the car or truck that you are going to buy. I test drove a new Hyundia, Santa Fa., and pulling was very bad.

Problem number two: The rotors are warped, the cleaning is B/S. They must be cut or replaced. I would ask for new brake shoes at the same time. I would only replace the rotors and with the dealers one, or go for the high performance ones. DO NOT GO CHEAP ON BRAKE.

Good Luck (boom05)

Richardd,
The alignment issue was for mostly 2007 models and maybe some early 2008.
The struts need to be rotated (don't ask me why - I thought struts are symmetrical?!).
See a TSB on this issue.

Warped rotors. If new, you should ask for replacement. If older, a re-surfacing (your know, grinding it) should suffice.

It it a hard pull or a radial drift? There is a difference, most fwd will give a radial drift because of two reasons (1) the power goes to one wheel before the other and (2) all roads are built at a slight angle for water to run off, it's either to the left or the right. Depends on the throw of the road you will get that radial drift. Another thing is check the air pressure, the car looses air pressure sitting on the lot, so you can have them check that out. But if you take you hands of the wheel and the car dives to one side your alignment is really off.

As far a the brakes, I would be interested to know what's the outcome.
