i foud a shop that is going to fix my car they gave me a really good estimate of only 600 for parts and labor. that does not enclude. the hood but he is getting me a dgmotorspors carbon fiber hood for 620 shipped. he is trying to get it cheaper for me but dont know if he can yet. thats cheaper then getting the stock hood and having it painted.

What the heck? A carbon fiber hood is cheaper than the one from the factory?

Ok, adding paint on there, but that's crazy.

What's Mazda doing? It's almost worth smooshing my front end and talking the insurance guys into gettting me a cf hood 'cause its cheaper.

gosh i can get a Cf hood for our car for $514 shiped to my door in 48 hours ... i hate Dg they are soo ass ramming overpriced its rediculous good reliable products but how many ways can one make a CF hood .. and the DG looks totaly stock unless you get the ass ramming ram air hood with the kit when s*** APCs Cf hood has the two indentions in it making it stand out much more and looks better if you ask me .. and since the APC will give you a life time warrenty against cracking flaking or fading( i dont know about the fading but) i stillthink its a much better deal

yeah you can get an apc hood for 514 and it is not 6 ply .so its not as strong. the dg hood i think is better quality and finish. i have seen a couple of apc hoods and they are nice but i think the dg one is much better. plus i dont like the fake scoop. i like the clean look.

Fiber Images all the way man. All CF Hoods are not created equal and the APC Hood is one of those. Only bad hood will crack or fade, so if APC has a warranty against that, what does that say about their hoods....(not the best quality). DG has great quality and that's why their prices are where they are. That also explains why APC's prices are where they are. I like the DG hood, but I'm not diggin that damn DGmotorsports emblem on the front of the hood.

I got the chance to see Wheelguru from AutoR&D's Fiber Images hood yesterday and all I can say is s***. That damn thing is nice. Perfect weave, perfect fit on both sides, no uneven areas at all. And I really love how Fiber Images stamps their logo at the top of the hood. You can't really see it unless you look at the hood from a certan anlge. The only thing I would do to any hood I get is add a couple of clear coats to it. The gel coats are good, but you might want to clear coat it to give it that extra shine.
