gold badges

hey the other day i saw a red p5 with gold badges i.e. mazda, protege5 etc. just wondering if this was ever a option or he painted them car look completely stock so didnt see why he would go to the trouble to paint them

I havent never seen any other than chromed badges so i think this guy have been painted them. About debadgin... i think theres a how-to somewhere about that including filling, sanding and painting.

Colour code is 25F / Garnet Red Mica. Someone told me that only sedans have this colour in US. Colour was chosen by my wife... And i must say she was right about it...

and yea ive seen a couple p5s around town with gold badges and they were like old people and s*** dont think they painted them lol but i could be wrong.

alot of dealers have non-affiliated contractors on site who will give you a "gold package" upgrade for a couple of hundred bucks. There is a machine/chemical out there that they apply to chrome to give it the gold look. That could be what you saw

No thats stock colour. I think it was available only -03 models. And thanks

^ I have to agree, that's an amazing colour on the P5. I don't normally go for red cars, but I love that one! More pics please!

The best thing to do if you're debadging your car is to spend the money and do it properly the first time, ie weld the holes. Luckily, I'm getting some rust on the hatch fixed under warranty, so I only have to pay for the welding.
