that intercooler must create a lot of drag. Prolly reduced the top speed of the A10 to 150mph, to bad that's not much off of what it is anyway.

Some small planes today actually use mazda rotary(wankel) engines. However, when someone talks about an old rotary prop plane, they are usually not talking about a wankel engine.

This engine uses regular old pistons, but they are arranged around a circle and so it is also called a rotary engine, although the working are completely different from a wankel rotary.
This concludes the rotary lesson for the day.

hmm, 9 cylindrical pistons as opposed to a couple "rounded triangle" shaped rotors. I guess that depends on your definition of "similar".

Hehe. It's all good, I am no expert. I just know some stuff because my dad is an aircraft mechanic, been around all sorts of planes my whole life.
