other neat features are that you get 1 gig of storage for free instead of like 5 megs with hotmail and I think 10 or 30 meg attachments are allowed..

I have it, but have not gotten any invites to pass out yet. The only thing I don't like is how they organize the Inbox. Other than that it is cool. Hopefully they will give POP3 or another type of access as well...

I saw that listed somewhere on a list of why gmail is bad or something. Besides, 500 people simultaneously syncing a gig of mail with their desktop could use some bandwidth

google has a software installed on the gmail system that allows it to search for appropriate subject matter that you talk about in your conversations via e.mail, then mail you spam related to what you are conversing about.

Well it doesnt technically mail you spam - it places small ads in the window margins. Yes, it uses its spam filter (on non-spam email) to pick the ads , but at least its targeted marketing towards your interests.

seriously, who cares if google scans your email for content? if your isp has a spam filter so do they..
